Battle enemies using insane and incredible combos in this BlazBlue spin-off.

THE GAME

BlazBlue Entropy Effect is a roguelike developed and published by 91Act. In a future where the world is in crisis and chaos, people have begun entering the cyberspace known as ACE to find a way to deal with the crisis. Using characters from the BlazBlue series, face enemies using combos and upgrades in fast-paced, dynamic combat.

Use incredible skills against your enemies.

MY IMPRESSIONS

BlazBlue is known for being one of the most complex and incredible fighting games on the market when it comes to gameplay. What would you expect from a roguelike spin-off of this series? These characteristics are maintained in BlazBlue Entropy Effect, adding dynamism between combos and movements that make your character dance across the map, destroying hordes of enemies. With a wide variety of characters, it's almost impossible not to find the one that best suits your playstyle, as each has its own gameplay characteristics and combo possibilities. Add to this the fact that you receive elemental upgrades for your abilities, acquired with each screen you complete, which add an additional layer of combo possibilities. Not enough? Well, it doesn't stop there! When you finish a run with a character, whether winning or losing, you can keep some acquired abilities and save that configuration. On your next playthrough, if you choose another character, you can use this to add upgrades to your current character. It may seem confusing, but everything fits together in such a way that it's incredibly enjoyable to unleash your character's full potential in combos that wipe enemies off the screen. The stage bosses are challenging and require dynamic, fast-paced gameplay, utilizing all your resources to defeat them. The game's art is beautiful, and the effects look like a light show when you start executing nonstop combos. It's a very enjoyable game to play and I believe it will please fans of the BlazBlue series, as it maintains the essence of the characters and offers challenging gameplay for those who want to maximize the game's combo potential.

Bosses are a big challenge on your journey.

ACHIEVEMENTS

BlazBlue Entropy Effect's achievements can be summarized as "try everything," as many of them are quite varied, such as selecting all types of elemental upgrades, completing stages with certain prerequisites that will challenge your gameplay—in short, a variety of challenges that you gradually complete, as the game's replayability is quite high, and eventually, you'll want to experience everything the game has to offer. Definitely, achieving 100% of the achievements will take time and effort to complete.

Be quick to dodge the barrage of blows on the screen.

CONCLUSION

When I started playing, I was a bit lost and didn't quite understand what was going on. However, I quickly caught on and became engrossed in the game, experimenting with characters, abilities, and combos, always impressed by the game's fluidity. No matter which character you play, it's simply a lot of fun to do everything in this game. It's like playing a BlazBlue game, but in a dynamic mode. One downside is that some characters are added through DLC, which in the Brazilian economy is quite prohibitive. The practice of having to pay for a single character never appealed to me. Although it's already been announced that we'll have the Dead Cells character appearing as a collaboration, and it will be free, at least this way we have news for those who can't afford more content. I hope more games do free collaborations. Still, BlazBlue Entropy Effect is a great game, and I hope it continues to receive updates because it's a very enjoyable title to play.

SCORE: 8.5/10
