After Desperados III, when a company reaches its technical apex of a genre, where can it improve and improve? That's what we set out to discover with Mimimi's latest RTT title, Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew.
Mimimi Games has developed and released Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew, one of the games in the strategy RTT subgenre that the developer gives us the air of grace. Mimimi is one of the main players responsible for reviving the genre in the modern era of strategy games.
The game is available on the following platforms: PlayStation 5, Microsoft Windows, Xbox Series X and Series S
RESUME
Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew features a wide variety of genres within its core features as a strategy game.
Something that has enormous potential, which is the ship's management system. At first, it might be a little disappointing with the amount of conversations we can have, but since it's a demo of the game, we believe that, practically, we won't have any more dialogue related to this area. We can use a black pearl to resurrect some crew inside our ship. One of the most interesting things about this game is being able to assemble the crew however we want and set out on a new mission. I think that, in the first phases, it won't make that much difference, but, from the middle to the end, it will be really amazing!
Shadow Gambit isn't afraid to think of itself as a funny game, and that's great. My main doubt regarding the game is that the game seemed to be extremely easy, considering that the characters seem to be too overpowered for a conventional RTT game. Raising the difficulty can raise the bar in this regard, but I believe a game shouldn't be extremely easy at the normal level. I say this in view of the company's excellent previous title: Desperados III, where the difficulty was perfectly balanced. It could be that the ability cap or higher cooldown makes your character more interesting to balance the level with others.

CONCLUSION
Animations, dubbing, thematic soundtrack... all very well done, cartoonish and charismatic characters, abuse of visual effects at Mimimi's apex. When analyzing these points, I believe that, after the experience you had with Desperados III, nothing can go wrong, right? Well, time will tell. In fact, Shadow Gambit is a well-crafted game and seems to have great potential to delve deeper into the RTT genre.
The game's optimization is very good and there is also a translation into Portuguese, including in this very early demo version.
The movement and fluidity of the game are wonderful, I have no doubts about the technical part of the game.
There are some things that need to be polished and better placed, but overall, the game has great potential for growth and exploration in other types of genres even in an RTT game.
