Review: A Little To The Left

For those who are obsessed with tidying up, A Little To The Left is the most enjoyable way to organize objects.

THE GAME

A Little To The Left is a puzzle game developed by Max Inferno and distributed by Secret Mode. With several puzzles, A Little To The Left brings a casual and fun game, with everyday situations of organizing objects, often being disturbed by your pet cat.

MY IMPRESSIONS

With a simple and relaxing idea, A Little To The Left brings fun and casual puzzles with a very homely theme. With messy situations, your goal is to organize everything harmoniously. Some phases even have more than one way to be solved, which is cool because it evokes a type of organization that each person will have. The game has five chapters, each with its own theme.

The art of the game is very nice and the soundtrack accompanies this idea. The game does not have Brazilian-Portuguese subtitles, but this fact does not affect the gameplay. As the game is relatively quick to finish, there are daily challenges that, as the name says, are renewed every day.

ACHIEVEMENTS

Achievements in the game are theoretically simple. Most of them are based on completing chapters and solving puzzles in every possible way. Also, there are some specific actions that must be done to acquire some achievements. And then comes the achievements related to daily challenges and we have a problem. There are daily challenge achievements that are based on the amount and frequency you do them. I'll give you two examples: one of the achievements is doing 100 daily challenges and the other is doing daily challenges for 30 days in a row. That is, you'll have to play for more than three months every day and still a month without forgetting any day, otherwise the count restarts. In my opinion, doing this is just a way to keep people playing your game and becomes a burden instead of keeping players excited.

Also, we have another problem: we have a game DLC that adds achievements to the base game. That is, if you want to do 100% of the achievements, you will have to purchase this DLC. So if you're committed to completing all the achievements, keep this information in mind.

CONCLUSION

A Little To The Left is really fun and you don't have to complete the challenges in a specific time, as many puzzle games like to do. It's relaxing and has a good level of difficulty. The game is quick to finish, which is sad because it's really fun to play.

As I mentioned earlier, the daily challenges try to keep the player there, playing every day, but it fails miserably. If you don't care about achievements, daily challenges are meaningless. And speaking of these achievements specifically, I think it's ridiculous to use them as a gimmick to keep people playing your game. It is quite obvious that this is the objective. Spending three months playing the same game every day for about five minutes, do you think this will really earn the admiration of those who play? Me, as a person who likes to do 100% achievements, I was extremely upset when I saw this.

Apart from the aforementioned fact, A Little To The Left is a good game to pass the time. I don't know if the idea is always to put new DLCs with more content, but it's a game that can and should have a lot more things to show.
