Review: Roguecraft DX
Every Step Hides a New Danger

Rogue Craft DX is a roguelike RPG that bets on a simple and straightforward approach, but still manages to deliver a very enjoyable experience. The adventure places the player in randomly generated maps where we must explore, face enemies, and find resources to progress through the 15 available levels.
MY IMPRESSIONS

The gameplay is quite straightforward. We explore the environment while enemies have their own turns. Along the way, we find chests, keys, lives, and other resources, while the map is gradually revealed as we discover new areas.
There are three classes, two of which are available from the beginning, while the third is unlocked after defeating Bonez Master. We also find interesting mechanics, such as pets and the ability to become invisible, while enemies vary as we progress through the levels.
Despite its simplicity, Rogue Craft DX is far from easy. We start with only five hearts of health, depending on the class we choose, and can increase this amount during the adventure. However, the random generation can put us in some rather difficult situations. Classes such as the Rogue and the one unlocked by defeating Bonez Master also feature unique mechanics, while the Warrior has a little more health.

The pixel art is one of the game's biggest highlights. The world is built from small squares, but practically every element is animated, making the environments feel alive. Even with its simple presentation, there is a great deal of care in the visual design.
ACHIEVEMENTS
Roguecraft DX features a varied achievement list, mixing objectives related to exploration, combat, item usage, and progression. There are also challenges focused on the different classes and other tasks that encourage players to experiment with the possibilities offered by the game.
For those looking for full completion, the list requires a little more dedication, especially with challenges involving fully exploring the dungeons and completing certain conditions during runs. Overall, it is a well-integrated achievement list that encourages different ways of playing without revealing spoilers about the adventure.

FINAL THOUGHTS
Rogue Craft DX knows exactly what it wants to be. Its mechanics are easy to understand, the controls are comfortable, and exploration works very well, while elements such as pets, invisibility, and enemy variety add small layers of strategy.
Some additional abilities could bring even more variety to the progression, while greater color differentiation between potions would make them easier to identify. Even so, the overall package is very well built and delivers an enjoyable experience for anyone looking for a straightforward, fun, and uncomplicated roguelike RPG.
