Review: Tell Me Your Story

A cute and light way of telling stories.

THE GAME

Tell Me Your Story is a puzzle game developed and distributed by RedDeer Games. We follow Amelia and her grandmother, Rose, reliving stories of adventures while they spend vacations together. While Rose tells her stories, Amelia, who has a very fertile imagination, imagines how these stories happened, passing through different places around the world, such as Asia, Europe and South America. To advance in the adventures narrated by images, we must solve simple and themes of each region where the story takes place, with diverse cultural references. Enjoy this comfortable dynamic between granddaughter and grandmother and enjoy an adorable story.

MY IMPRESSIONS

The way of telling stories through beautiful or cute images, along with some puzzles to advance the story are very common. It's a simple formula that works for its purpose. Generally, they are not long games. That said, Tell Me Your Story uses this exact formula. And don't see this as a negative point, the basics are also good, just don't expect anything different from that.

The story is very cute and simple, with everything being told through images, without lines. In fact, the game is not in Portuguese-Brazil, but this will not influence its gameplay. I liked the graphic style adopted, it really suits the atmosphere of the game. Despite passing through some places in the world, I feel like there could be more places and cultures to explore. The game could be a little longer, as it is a very simple game.

As for the puzzles, most of them are simple, but some of them will take you a while to understand the dynamics. Perhaps there is a lack of clarity in what is requested. Even though there is a tip button, it is often a subjective tip, which doesn't help much. Overall, it's a quick game, with a cute and easy-to-understand story.

ACHIEVEMENTS

The game's achievements are very easy to complete, since they are all linked to the course of the story, that is, finish the game and you will have completed everything, except one achievement, which is using the game's tip. There's not much of a secret, you can easily achieve 100%.

CONCLUSION

Tell Me Your Story fulfills its role well: being a simple and cute game, with a cool story between granddaughter and grandmother. It's a very specific style of game that appeals to an audience that really likes the artistic style and story. It's a great pastime, but I would like it to be longer, taking place on more continents, perhaps some less known, so that cultures less covered in pop culture are also valued. Furthermore, some puzzles, despite being simple, are confusing and you will have to solve them through trial and error. Still, for those who like comfortable games, Tell Me Your Story is a good choice.
