A cozy take on classic RPG games, which brings everything that is truly essential to the genre in a pleasant and rewarding way. Terra Memoria is like a comforting hug for any turn-based game aficionado.
GAMEPLAY
This is perhaps a point to ask ourselves about Terra Memoria, since the game does not present the complexity that we find in more elaborate RPGs. There is no Nature system, Escape, the possibility of using items during battle, chances of critical hits or even the chance of missing a hit. It's curious: Terra Memoria is extremely simple. If we place it alongside exponents of the genre, it becomes clear that each aspect was approached in a different way compared to other games of the same style.
However, the map can become a little challenging if you need something more specific, as there are extremely similar areas when we are in the same biome.
STORY AND GRAPHICS
The game's graphics are simply incredible, unique characters, phenomenal art, and extremely relaxing music. Everything is impressive in this game.
The narrative revolves around an investigation into the whereabouts of the crystals that supply energy to the region. We follow the journey of six characters, each with their own stories and personalities, as they unravel the mystery of crystals. As the plot unfolds, we explore how each character will have their story concluded in this incredible world.
We follow the perspective of six main characters in Terra Memoria: three playable and three support. Each of them is richer and more complex than the other. I would venture to say that, even if Terra Memoria were a bad game, the charisma of the protagonists would still be able to sustain it in an exemplary way, thanks to the intricate references to anime and gaming culture in general. Incorporating references to anime and gaming culture, which adds an extra layer of charm and familiarity for fans of these genres. The narrative is accompanied by cozy music that perfectly complements the game's atmosphere, creating an auditory experience that is as immersive as the visual one.
ACHIEVEMENTS
As an achievement-focused portal, we often criticize developers for being too heavy-handed or too lax with some achievements, something that is crucial for players today. Terra Memoria hits the nail on the head in this game's list of achievements. The achievements are well designed, with no missable items or time-consuming collectibles. They involve the story and dynamics of the game, without demanding too much or too little from the players. I can say that Terra Memoria strikes the perfect balance in terms of achievements and should serve as an example for developers, both in this genre and others.

RESUME
For me, it is curious to have contact with Terra Memoria, considering my varied experiences with turn-based RPG games. For a while, I even moved away from the genre. I tried to come back with Octopath Traveler, Persona 4 Golden, and several other games with different approaches to the genre. However, Terra Memoria was a surreal experience in my career as a player. I can safely say that, alongside War Mongrels, it is one of the best games I have ever reviewed for this portal. Of course, it would be unfair to compare an RTT with an RPG, as they are different proposals. But in terms of sensation, playing Terra Memoria was so magical that it made me remember the hours I spent playing Golden Sun on the emulator or discovering secrets in Pokémon.
Terra Memoria has two points that, in my opinion, could be better worked on: simplicity and level design. These aspects could be improved to further enrich the experience. Looking at the game map, it appears that parts are missing, possibly for a future DLC, sequel, or patches.
Despite these criticisms, I cannot deny that Terra Memoria is satisfactory in everything it proposes. Even with some areas that could be improved, the magic and nostalgia that the game evokes are undeniable, making it a memorable experience.
