Review: Toree Saturn

Run non-stop in this frantic game!

THE GAME

Toree Saturn is a 3D platform game developed and published by Siactro. Controlling Toree, a bird wearing sunglasses and a backpack, race from point A to point B in the shortest time possible, using map resources like speed and height boosters, or the bird's own abilities. Avoid enemies, collect stars, and try to break records on the various tracks offered by this frenetic racing game.

Run through colorful and frenetic scenarios.

MY IMPRESSIONS

With 3D graphics reminiscent of games from the late 1990s, Toree Saturn presents us with a simple yet challenging game for those who enjoy breaking records in speed games. Although the levels are linear, the frenetic pace required to reach high ranks will require the player to pay close attention to avoid losing speed boosters throughout the level, for example. Furthermore, mastering your character's movements is crucial to improving your time, accelerating and boosting when necessary. Checkpoints are scattered along the way, although well spaced apart, but they help in case of a failure mid-course. Overall, the game's appeal lies in achieving the best possible time in each level, discovering the best way to overcome each obstacle faster, almost like discovering the rhythm of each track.

Avoid bumping into enemies throughout the stage.

ACHIEVEMENTS

Unfortunately, as of this writing, the game doesn't offer achievements. I don't know if that's in the developers' plans, but achievements would add an extra incentive for players who strive to achieve the best times in each level.

Use the whole scenario to your advantage.

CONCLUSION

Toree Saturn is a very short but fun game. As mentioned before, its replayability depends on the player feeling challenged and trying to improve their time in each level, which for the vast majority won't be the case. However, that's how the game presents itself: a quick and fast-paced pastime that invites you to get better at it. For me, it was good fun, and I hope the developers add achievements to the game to give players an extra incentive.
