A 2D shooter with incredible art and challenging levels. A great return to the classics.
Game
ZPF is a retro-inspired 2D shooter game, originally released for the Mega Drive/Sega Genesis (yes! there are cartridge versions for it). Here, you can choose between 3 different playable "characters," from a spaceship to a warrior, each with their own shooting, melee, and special abilities.
The game features several challenging levels and incredible art. The music is also very engaging and encourages you to keep playing for hours.

It's also possible to find alternative paths, leading you to new places and achievements, giving the game a nice variety!
After a run/level, with the points collected, you can buy buffs and/or tips for the levels and bosses, making the gameplay even more interesting.

My impressions
ZPF is a very challenging game, like most retro shooters we remember from the past, with levels full of enemies, often appearing simultaneously. With side-scrolling gameplay and a rich environment, we often lose track of our character, ending up being destroyed due to lack of attention (but nothing that diminishes the desire to keep playing more and more).
The game's premise is simple, but fun, and largely follows the concepts of past games of the same style. But don't be fooled, the game can be quite challenging!

At the end of each stage, we can discover treasures and unlock hidden secrets, which makes the game even more varied, preventing it from becoming monotonous and endlessly repeating each level.
Since we're dealing with stages, your lives are limited to the stage you're currently on, meaning you don't need to beat the entire game in one go. Phew!
Conclusions
Achievements
The game features a total of 28 achievements, including some basic tasks such as purchasing buffs from the shop and achieving the highest score. Others involve defeating specific bosses or completing the game with all three available characters.
