- Review: The Alters
Fight against time by creating branched clones of yourself in an adventure that brings out the best of science fiction. Games-Review-Análises-Conquistas-Achievements It is fascinating to see how a studio that started with a small mobile and Windows game like Anomaly has transformed into something so grand, now comparable to several acclaimed titles in the industry. The great strength of 11 bit Studios has always been creativity, something that stood out especially in This War of Mine, which had been the team's most notable success so far. This kind of unique approach is something that is missing in many big-budget games today. The Alters seems to represent the peak of this evolution. Here, we witness a powerful combination of mechanics already explored in previous titles, combined with innovations that likely took years to develop. The result is a game that deserves a prominent place within the sci-fi genre, even for those not familiar with it. We are looking at a title, and possibly the start of a franchise, with great potential for success. I hope this journey continues for a long time. INTRO We control Jan Dolski, a space worker who, after an unexpected deviation in his mission route, ends up stranded on an uninhabited planet. With no way to communicate, we are thrown into a lonely and tense journey. Shortly after the crash landing, we find the captain's pod, lifeless, likely killed on impact. It is from this point that we begin a desperate search for the whereabouts of the crew. The opening atmosphere is a show of its own. The planet where we are stranded conveys a dense and threatening tone. A few steps from the crash site, we find our mobile base and rush to reach it, driven by hostile conditions and the disturbing discovery that the entire crew is dead. The most frightening part: they did not die from the crash. Something far more mysterious happened. It is inside this base that The Alters reveals its greatest strength. Gameplay revolves entirely around Dolski’s daily routine, which must be managed with surgical precision in terms of hours and resources. The base layout strongly resembles Fallout Shelter, with clearly divided sectors like storage, captain’s cabin, command center, and communications room. In the communications sector, we manage to establish contact with an external system. We receive messages from an unknown voice, full of interference, informing us that the planet is on a collision course with a star. Our time is limited. We need to find a way to survive until we can escape. GAME-CHANGING FACTOR At a certain point in the game, after collecting a fair amount of resources, we gain access to the Quantum Computer. Inside it, we find our protagonist’s life story, from childhood up to the events that brought him to the current situation. It is a striking segment, with a raw and real narrative. We witness, for instance, the death of his mother, with no time even for a farewell. We also see the emergence of his first love, Lena. Interestingly, in this part of the story, the protagonist says he cannot stand crowds, which is ironic considering he ends up isolated on a completely uninhabited planet. As the chapters progress, we watch the protagonist slowly becoming similar to his own father, who used to drink and yell at his mother. The character’s failure, gradually revealed through this complex narrative, only enriches the emotional depth of The Alters. The entire narrative of the game revolves around an ordinary man, up until his involvement in the Dolly Project. The story begins to branch out impressively when we access the Quantum Computer. Branching, in this context, means altering our own DNA and life path to generate a new version of ourselves. It is a cloning process of the main character but with fundamental variations in his life journey. It is still us, but with different decisions made in the past. This opens up so many possibilities that it is something I had never seen in a game before. At first, the branches are few and only serve as an introduction, but we quickly realize that we are creating alternative versions of ourselves, with entirely different backgrounds. The first branch, for example, shows what would have happened if, instead of leaving and confronting our father, we had stayed with our mother and gone to university. What would our life be like if just one of those choices had been different? At this point, we discover the true potential of The Alters, and the game truly begins. GAMEPLAY During the day, it is possible to leave the base and gather resources on the planet. This mechanic is one of the game's highlights. The way time is manipulated and accelerated during collection is visually striking and adds a rare sense of urgency. Constant radiation imposes real limits on exploration. Extracting minerals and water becomes essential, as these resources sustain the base and keep Dolski alive during the countdown to the end. The base construction system is another strong point. It is not just about maintaining what already exists. We can create new modules, modify spaces, and plan strategic improvements, all within a tight timeframe. With each new structure built, we feel like we are preparing, even if minimally, for the inevitable. Once we build a workshop, we gain access to item crafting. It is a system similar to mining, as we spend our time in an accelerated way, requiring careful management of how and when we use it. With one of the constructions called the “Womb,” we access a type of genetic material found in a mineral scattered across the planet. Initially, we can generate creatures from this material and soon create a sheep named Molly (a clear reference to Dolly the sheep, the first successfully cloned mammal in history). To collect resources efficiently, we also need to build outposts in addition to mining. From the moment we awaken our first alter, we must deal with his frustrations and personal issues. After all, he is a clone of ourselves, with his own consciousness, and we interact with him through dialogue where we can try to ease the situation. This first alter has mechanical skills and is extremely useful in solving the problems we face in the base. Thanks to his help, new branches of our story and our relationship base begin to form. ACHIEVEMENTS The achievements in The Alters are curious and fun. On one hand, there are light-hearted moments, like petting the cloned sheep. On the other, most achievements are directly tied to the game's core. There are no absurd objectives like collecting 1000 pigeons. Here, the goals involve deepening relationships with your alter egos or completing specific story missions. It is what I call the perfect balance: the achievements are not tedious and can be naturally unlocked as the player enjoys the journey. TRAILER OFFICIAL RESUME The Alters presents a narrative sequence so impressive, memorable, and unique that it had been a long time since I had seen anything like it in a game. No wonder I had been eagerly awaiting this review. For me, even with a few minor technical issues, this may be the game of the year. The game is brilliant. The idea of having multiple cloned alter egos, each with different stories based on decisions you have made, is simply breathtaking. I believe the experience gained from Frostpunk made a total difference in the branching gameplay of The Alters. Even in that game, the developers explored the idea of making decisions that directly impacted the city’s direction, leading the player through entirely different paths over time. That same magic is present here, and I hope this type of system continues to be adopted in future titles by the studio. The Alters is certainly one of those must-play games, one you have to experience. Few titles of this quality emerge each year, and this might be the best game I have ever had the pleasure to review. It is no coincidence that I have been keeping an eye on it for a long time. It has been almost a year, maybe even more, since I have been waiting for this opportunity. Since the announcement, I knew that the studio behind Frostpunk would deliver nothing less than a unique and innovative experience, and fortunately, I was right. Every now and then, we find games that mark our journey as players. The Alters has everything to become that kind of game for many people. For me, alongside Expedition 33, it is the main contender for Game of the Year. This is the first game I have ever rated a ten in the history of my reviews, and it is a more than well-deserved score. It is a completely different experience from any other game you will find. SCORE:10/10 Games-Review-Análises-Conquistas-Achievements
- Review: Hello Stranger
Are you ready to play games for your life? THE GAME Hello Stranger is an interactive fiction (FMV) game developed and distributed by PRM Games. We follow the life of Cam, a man whose entire life is automated and virtual. As such, he uses an app called Hello Stranger, where he chats with random people via video. Accustomed to the app and the types of people he meets there, Cam is startled when a masked figure starts chatting with him. Even though he tries to disconnect, it is too late, as the mysterious person has already hacked his entire house and now Cam is forced to play three games in order to be released. And if he loses any of the games? Well, he will receive his punishment. Hello, stranger! MY IMPRESSIONS Hello Stranger is my first experience with FMV games and I was eager to enter this world of cinematic games. Unlike what you might imagine, you won't just be watching and making decisions to advance the story. Paying attention to everything that happens is essential for some decisions and even to understand the game's plot. Furthermore, since everything revolves around winning games, which are mostly very challenging and fun, you feel like you're actively participating in the story. In addition, you'll have different games to play depending on the path you choose, with solo or competitive game mechanics. There are a range of branches in the story and, if you want to understand all the nuances of what's happening, you'll play it several times, taking different paths. Don't worry, the story isn't very long and the game is in Brazilian Portuguese, so it won't be tiring, and it's also a great game to play with friends. The actors, for the most part, act well and don't take you out of the plot, despite the more indie style of filming, which is something I like. I won't go into details about the story, as that would spoil the whole idea of the game, but I can say that every time you finish a branch of the story, you'll want to do another one to find out more about what's going on. Get ready for the most diverse games. ACHIEVEMENTS The game doesn't have many achievements, but most of them involve making specific choices, which occasionally, after trying all possible options, you'll end up completing some of them. Still, if something goes unnoticed, it's easy to identify what needs to be done, as the descriptions of the achievements help you figure out what to do. In addition, there is an achievement in which you must complete the entire branching tree of scenes, that is, take all possible paths that the game presents to you. It may take a while, but getting 100% of Hello Stranger's achievements is not that difficult a task. What will be your destiny? CONCLUSION I think that, as a first experience with FMV, I made the right decision to start with Hello Stranger. I've always heard a lot of complaints about this type of game, like they're just interactive movies and not interactive games. Hello Stranger managed to merge the two worlds very well and make the player feel part of the plot. The atmosphere of the game makes you tense, always waiting for something or someone to scare you, while at the same time you try to understand the plot, which leaves loose ends precisely so that you can play more and try other branches. If you want to get to know the world of FMV games, I recommend that, like me, you also start with Hello Stranger. SCORE: 8.0/10
- Review: Pipistrello and the Cursed Yoyo
In Pipistrello and the Cursed Yoyo , face the criminal underworld using your most reliable weapon: a powerful yoyo. Games-Review-Análises-Conquistas-Achievements Developed by Pocket Trap, the studio behind titles like Dodgeball Academia and Ninjin: Clash of Carrots , Pipistrello is certainly a game that strengthens the already impressive lineup of pixel art masterpieces from Pocket Trap. GAMEPLAY / VISUAL As a good Brazilian, of course I had to try Pipistrello and the Cursed Yoyo . When I received the game for review, I honestly had no idea what it was about, and I didn't even know it was a Brazilian game. What immediately caught my eye were the graphics, with a lush pixel art style that is incredibly well-crafted and unique. Right from the start, we're introduced to a story rich in detail about the Pipistrello family, who apparently hold an important — and possibly governmental — role in the city. We play as the charismatic bunny Pippit and, after a few events, we team up with our aunt, Madame Pipistrello, to begin our journey. Among the many mechanics involving our yoyo, we can obviously throw it and see it come back to us. You can toss it and, after a while, it returns automatically. If it lands somewhere, it comes back instantly. When thrown, it can bounce off corners like a pinball, which is extremely fun. We can also jump, and while in the air, we become temporarily invulnerable. It’s similar to the rolling mechanic in Dark Souls , perhaps? It works like a small window to buy time and think about your next move. Some platforms can be frustrating to use. Not because they're imprecise, but because the mechanic itself is complex, tricky to master, and it’s difficult to feel both accurate and safe at the same time. It may take a while to fully understand the jumping logic. Every time we get hit or fall, we lose hearts, but we can recover them by defeating monsters along the way. To get quality-of-life upgrades, we need to make contracts that cost in-game coins. These contracts work as temporary penalties. For example, to gain an extra point of strength, we need to collect 500 coins, and until that contract is fulfilled, we play with one less heart. It’s a very interesting and challenging mechanic. AUDIO The soundtrack is definitely a highlight. It evokes samba and even traditional Brazilian instruments, mixing 8-bit influences, classic games, and the national culture in a unique way. The game is without a doubt one of the best at using this kind of approach in an original form, even while leaning on familiar elements of Brazilian music we already know. ACHIEVEMENTS The achievements are heavily tied to gameplay, and it’s a relief to see a game that doesn't just throw in countless meaningless collectibles. Not that Pipistrello doesn't do this in some way, it does, but there are so many creative and well-designed achievements that this ends up being a strength. The game is unique in every sense, and its confidence in its own creative vision allows for collectibles to actually make sense. This is very different from generic games that make you collect a thousand items across the map. Collectibles belong in games that make an impact, and this one is certainly among them. TRAILER OFFICIAL RESUME I was honestly speechless because I loved the game. It’s simply amazing. The art is beautiful, the audio is flawless, and the gameplay is excellent. To be honest, I hadn’t played anything from this developer before Pipistrello and the Cursed Yoyo , but this experience was so outstanding that it made me want to check out their previous work and hope for more titles like this in the future. I sincerely wish the studio great success, because the Brazilian games industry deserves titles of this quality. It's not just the audiovisual impact that stands out, but also the way the game presents Brazilian cultural elements in such a unique way. It deserves a place among major indie titles, alongside Mullet Mad Jack , Knights of Pen and Paper , and other memorable names. This game truly deserves international attention. It’s far from being just another indie title. More than a national product, it’s an example of what an indie game should be. I genuinely hope to see more games like this, and maybe even a sequel to Pipistrello and the Cursed Yoyo from the same developer. SCORE:9.5/10 Games-Review-Análises-Conquistas-Achievements
- Review: Revenge of the Savage Planet
Explore the craziest planets and try to survive in Revenge of the Savage Planet. THE GAME Revenge of the Savage Planet is an adventure game developed and published by Raccoon Logic Studios Inc. After being sent to a planet that was to be exploited for use by a large corporation, you are fired and left in this environment, with few resources and alone. However, you need to survive and you will need to explore planets to access resources and gain improvements to make your life easier, all in the midst of a humorous plot. Play alone or with a friend. MY IMPRESSIONS Despite being the second game in the series, it is not necessary to have played the first game to play this title. With many exploration and adventure elements, Revenge of the Savage Planet uses its good humor and cartoonish art in a light and very fun game. With four different planets to explore, you will always have reasons to go to each one of them, since you will unlock new skills and technologies that will allow you to access places you could not before. With fun and diverse combat mechanics, you can use your creativity to defeat enemies, in addition to epic battles against bosses. It is addictive to explore everything and, with each new improvement acquired, you want to try out where it will be useful, putting you in an infinite cycle in which you will not even notice the time passing. The game is in Brazilian Portuguese, which helps you understand the story and the various videos and advertisements that appear on the screens, videos that are filmed with real people and are very well made and funny. I really liked this mix between game and real videos, making everything much more creative and original. The game also has a cooperative mode, which makes it even more fun. Revenge of the Savage Planet is the kind of game that you can play without any commitment and leave very satisfied. Explore every corner of an often hostile environment. ACHIEVEMENTS With so many different mechanics, it was obvious that the game would have a wide variety of achievements. Capturing animals, completing challenges, and buying furniture for your home are just a few examples of what you must complete to achieve 100% of the achievements. Since everything in the game is very fun and enjoyable to do and the game is addictive, you won't have much trouble completing all the achievements. Use your resources to access news. CONCLUSION I really enjoyed Revenge of the Savage Planet. As I said before, I hadn't played the first title in the series, so I didn't know what I would find. I also can't compare the two, saying if there was any evolution from one game to the other, but I can say that Revenge of the Savage Planet is a lot of fun. Exploring the planets is really enjoyable, although you might find it annoying to have to go back and forth every time you unlock a new improvement, here everything flows naturally and is not tiring at all. If you're looking for a light and relaxed game, Revenge of the Savage Planet is the game for you. SCORE: 8.5/10
- Review: Cattle Country
Live like a pioneer in the Wild West, building a farm, facing bandits, and uncovering conspiracies. Games-Review-Análises-Conquistas-Achievements Developed by Castle Pixel, creators of games like Blossom Tales , Rex Rocket , and other smaller-scale titles, Cattle Country is the biggest game developed by the company so far . GAMEPLAY / VISUAL Right from the start, we can see the obvious comparison to Stardew Valley 's character creation — which isn’t a bad thing. The customization is quite decent and varied. It’s important to mention that the game is not translated into my native language , which is Portuguese. We are introduced to a beautiful pixel art intro . From the very beginning, we are given various tools and equipment to help us in our adventure. There’s a stamina bar to manage your actions over the course of each 24-hour day, which must be handled carefully so as not to exhaust your character. This is quite classic for this type of game. We have pickaxes to break rocks and ores , axes to cut down trees , and scythes to trim the grass around. Right at the beginning, we already have a tent that we can place wherever we want, and, unlike other games in the genre, here we are free to choose its location . I must admit that, for a console game , the precision of movement can be a bit frustrating. There’s simply a small square in front of you where you apply the action, which can be annoying for some players at first, as it really isn’t very precise. The premise is so frighteningly similar to Stardew Valley that it’s almost impressive. Of course, we have different characters , but the entire visual aspect , along with the vibe the game conveys , is very reminiscent of that game’s style . Throughout the journey, we learn how to fish with Mary , and there’s even a fishing tournament within the game. Just like in Stardew Valley , there’s a relationship dynamic with friends, which can even lead to romance . There are many people, each with their own peculiarities, likes, and dislikes . We can start harvesting and planting crops right from the beginning of the game. A little further along, we find a small town that gathers most of the game’s NPCs . In it, we have the sheriff's office , the bank , the blacksmith , among other establishments. ACHIEVEMENTS To be quite honest, this is where I think the company overdid it . The achievement is simply tedious , especially if you’re someone who just wants to play to complete achievements . Here, we have an achievement that requires you to maximize relationships with all characters , in addition to gathering enough gold to simply leave the planet . These are things I wouldn’t recommend for a small game . Maybe, back then, when this kind of mechanic was a novelty, it would make sense to include some challenges like that. But nothing this game offers is actually new in any aspect. It simply replicates narratives and does not justify taking such a big step regarding achievements . TRAILER OFFICIAL RESUME Cattle Country is a game that applies several well-known mechanics from farming games , with a country theme that, in practice, doesn’t really feel that country . Anyone who looks at this game and doesn’t see Stardew Valley has probably never played the original . I’ll go a bit further: given the company's scope, all the games they develop have some similarity with titles that are successful in specific niches . I’m not going to judge that aspect because the focus here is Cattle Country . The game itself does everything well , but brings nothing new . Perhaps I would recommend it to people who have already done absolutely everything in Stardew Valley and are still looking for something similar. But honestly, I don’t know if this game can find space with so much variety available in the market . SCORE:6/10 Games-Review-Análises-Conquistas-Achievements
- Review: The Precinct
The Precinct is an open-world police action game, focused on car chases and dynamic mechanics, set in a 1980s city. Games-Review-Análises-Conquistas-Achievements Developed by Fallen Tree Games Ltd a studio that had already flirted with the crime genre in American Fugitive , The Precinct is undoubtedly the studio’s most ambitious and refined title to date. GAMEPLAY / VISUAL The Precinct presents us with a city marked by violence and corruption — central themes in its plot. Right from the start, we’re immersed in graphic novel-style dialogue, featuring somewhat cliché humor, but it works within the narrative’s tone. The gameplay feels reminiscent of the classic GTA titles, but with updated mechanics and enhanced graphics. One key difference is the free camera system, which offers a broader, elevated view of the city setting it apart from similar games with more limited perspectives. There are some very interesting narrative touches. The game purposefully breaks its pacing and plays with clichés in a humorous way. A good example is the first mission: you're sent out to grab a hot dog for lunch. Shortly after, your first real case begins a bank robbery in progress. You rush back to the car, turn on the siren, and speed toward the scene under a time limit. When you arrive, the bank is surrounded by police. You must find cover and engage in a shootout with the fleeing robbers. The chase system is a standout feature. Beyond the usual approach of simply following suspects and shooting wildly, the game offers tactical tools like deploying spike strips or calling for backup from other units. This adds depth to the pursuit mechanics, which also benefit from a destructible environment that enhances the sense of impact and non-stop action. After suspects abandon their vehicles, you can issue an arrest command to try and apprehend them. The immersion continues through small details like the robbery being reported on an in-game TV channel which reinforces the feeling of living a cop’s daily routine. As for graphics, the PC version runs smoothly and looks great. However, on Xbox Series X and PS5, the game is locked at 30 FPS a letdown given the power of those consoles. It’s possible that the leap in scale and ambition over the studio’s previous games made development more demanding. Still, The Precinct is a visually appealing game, built in the Unity engine even if I have my reservations about it. The combination of immersive atmosphere, player freedom, and narrative details makes for a unique experience in the genre. ACHIEVEMENTS Here we hit a classic problem found in many games: a lack of balance between what players actually want and what developers implement. Instead of focusing on creative achievements that align with gameplay as the game successfully does in some instances, the developers opted for many collectible-based and timed-mission achievements. Unfortunately, the collectible trophies are extremely tedious. You’re asked to destroy every artifact without missing a single one, or read all the signs scattered throughout the city. This becomes exhausting, especially for a smaller-scale (though highly competent) game. Had the developers stuck with the style of the early achievements which were more in tune with specific mechanics and unique gameplay moments this issue could have been avoided. But there’s definitely an excessive number of collectibles, which hurts the experience of fully completing the game. TRAILER OFFICIAL RESUME The Precinct features a wide range of engaging mechanics. It’s impressive what the studio accomplished, especially considering its small size. As a good game should, the gameplay shines far brighter than the narrative — which, while present, takes a backseat to thrilling systems like the car chases. It’s definitely a great choice for fans of police action with lots of intensity and a dash of classic clichés. SCORE:8/10 Games-Review-Análises-Conquistas-Achievements
- Review: White Knuckle
Escalate as quickly as possible or accept the consequences. THE GAME White Knuckle is a parkour and horror game developed by Dark Machine Games and published by DreadXP. Climb through the most diverse and strange environments while a type of slime rises to chase you and pressure you to act quickly but accurately. Otherwise, accept your fate. Be very careful not to overexert yourself. MY IMPRESSIONS White Knuckle has a very unique dynamic: doing parkour while being chased by a slimy entity. You must quickly analyze which path to take to climb, being as careful as possible because one slip can make you fall and make things even more urgent. The climbing mechanics are simple, using the mouse, each button is equivalent to one of the hands, which are used to grab and climb. However, your hands will weaken if you stay grabbed for too long, which requires managing to grab with one hand while the other rests. You can also use momentum to swing and gain momentum, which helps you reach more distant platforms. There are also certain tools and items that can help you in your climb, such as iron bars or climbing pins that will help you reach places that you might not normally have access to. You can also buy these items from machines that appear during the game, if necessary. There are other dangers as you climb, but it's more fun if you discover them yourself. Just remember that not everything that looks like a rope is actually a rope. The main idea of the game is quite interesting and should attract many speedrunners, especially since the game itself gives you the option to set a timer so you can track your time. In my case, because the game is very frenetic and fast-paced, the movement in the game ends up causing me motion sickness, which means I can only play for short periods of time because it gives me headaches. If you have this problem, keep this in mind. The atmosphere makes you tense. ACHIEVEMENTS With a huge variety of different objectives, White Knuckle will keep you quite busy if you want to complete 100% of the achievements. These range from reaching certain heights while climbing, to using items and even dying in the most diverse and cruel ways the game allows. So get ready for a lot of climbing and encounters with strange creatures. Use tools to make your climb easier. CONCLUSION Unfortunately, I couldn't enjoy the game as much as I would have liked. I liked its premise ever since I discovered it, but the motion sickness prevented me from enjoying more of what the game has to offer. Still, I recognize the merits that White Knuckle has, with a very different idea that generates several desperate and, sometimes, funny situations. I always value developers who create games with different dynamics than what we see in the industry, because it shows that we still have room for creative and fun games. SCORE: 7.5/10
- Review: Spirit of the North 2
Spirit of the North 2 is a contemplative and visually stunning journey where we control a fox in search of the Guardians of the Northern Lights, solving puzzles in a mystical world. Games-Review-Análises-Conquistas-Achievements GAMEPLAY / VISUAL In Spirit of the North 2 , we take on the role of an adorable fox in a journey that blends contemplation with challenge. We face a variety of well-crafted puzzles that guide us toward our goals across breathtaking landscapes. Fully utilizing the power of Unreal Engine 5, the game impresses with striking visuals and immersive art direction. However, despite its technical finesse, some gameplay aspects feel outdated. Animations such as jumping or dying carry a stiffness reminiscent of the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 era, clashing with the rest of the experience. Even so, there’s a special charm in how the game presents its narrative. The search for the lost Guardians of the Northern Lights is wrapped in a mystical atmosphere that invites immersion. Often, we find ourselves intentionally lost in the scenery or mechanics, absorbed by the world around us. It’s only when certain symbols appear on screen that we refocus on the story’s thread, reminding us that beyond the beauty, there is a carefully constructed plot. ACHIEVEMENTS Unfortunately, as the review key was received well before release, there were no achievements available for analysis. TRAILER OFFICIAL CONCLUSÃO Unfortunately, I didn’t have the chance to play the original title, but Spirit of the North 2 stands out with its striking visual and artistic direction. Still, it falls short in technical gameplay aspects like movement and responsiveness, giving the impression that the developers relied too heavily on visuals and puzzles to carry the experience. It feels like something is missing—as if the game arrived a decade too late to have the impact it could’ve had alongside titles like Unravel Two . Even so, it remains a competent and charming work within its scope. SCORE :6.5/10 Games-Review-Análises-Conquistas-Achievements
- Review: Once Upon A Puppet
Once Upon A Puppet is a charming puzzle game with a striking theatrical aesthetic and creative challenges that explore the interaction between puppet and puppeteer. Games-Review-Análises-Conquistas-Achievements GAMEPLAY / VISUAL Once Upon a Puppet makes a strong first impression with its beautiful visuals, rich in detail and supported by a polished art direction. However, it initially feels odd to control only a hand manipulating the puppet — a design choice that might come across as unusual, even risky, from the developers. This introduction, though brief, could affect early player retention, especially among those with less patience. Fortunately, this discomfort quickly fades once you take direct control of the puppet, and that’s when the game truly starts to shine. Gameplay evolves over time, consistently incorporating classic platforming mechanics. The blend of 2D and 3D is handled competently, creating an experience that’s both visually appealing and smooth. Still, Once Upon a Puppet doesn’t seem to aim beyond the basics: its puzzles are functional but simple, possibly targeted at a younger or more casual audience. Despite that, the game exudes charm and features a distinct visual identity, though it leaves the impression that it could have pushed further in terms of complexity and boldness. It’s a delightful title that ultimately chooses to stay in safe territory. ACHIEVEMENTS I found the achievement list interesting, as it offers challenges genuinely tied to gameplay. However, some collectibles may frustrate completionists, requiring a second playthrough just for specific achievements — something generally frowned upon. Still, since it’s a relatively short and well-crafted game, it would’ve been nice if a bit more attention had been given to this area. TRAILER OFFICIAL RESUME Once Upon A Puppet is a delightful game, featuring gorgeous visuals and well-designed puzzles. Its theatrical style is a true standout, giving the experience a unique atmosphere — it even reminded me of certain puzzles from Castle of Illusion , that classic from the famous Disney franchise (you know the one...). Overall, it’s a title that immediately grabs your attention with its theme and visual appeal, but also wins you over with its charm. One of the elements I enjoyed most was how the puzzles require interaction between the Puppet and the controlling hand — there’s something magical about feeling like you’re controlling two distinct characters at once. It was a fun and creative experience. Score:7.5/10 Games-Review-Análises-Conquistas-Achievements
- Review: Ex-Zodiac
Get into your ship and fight for the freedom of the planets. THE GAME Ex-Zodiac is a spaceship game developed by MNKY and published by Pixeljam. Pilot Kyuu has only one mission: to fight for the freedom of the planets of the Sanzaru star system. Aboard her ship, Kyuu will battle against the terrorist organization Zodiac, which will send the most deadly combat machines to stop our pilot. Pilot through different environments. MY IMPRESSIONS With colorful, retro, low-poly art, Ex-Zodiac brings a lot of fun space action. In addition to a soundtrack that brings back nostalgia, it's impossible not to remember Star Fox when watching this game. The fast-paced action throws you headfirst into battles and you, as the pilot, must always be alert, whether it's to the enemies that appear on the screen or to the scenario itself that will require mastery in evasion. Improvements can be found as the levels progress, such as faster and stronger shots or more missiles for your arsenal. The game is not in Brazilian Portuguese, which can make the player lose some of the context of the game's story, but this has little impact on the gameplay. In addition to your ship, some levels put you in other vehicles, which give a new feel to the level, without changing the standard gameplay too much. The control customization allows you to play with either the controller or the mouse and keyboard, so you can play the way you like the most. In my case, I played with the mouse and keyboard, because the shots are more precise and the movement more fluid. With a good pace and lots of fun, Ex-Zodiac will keep you entertained. Flying motorcycles are so cool. ACHIEVEMENTS Ex-Zodiac's achievements are based on three tasks: defeating bosses, collecting hidden chips, and achieving an S rank in all stages. The last one is the one that will take the most work, as it will require mastery to achieve an S rank, since to do so you must avoid taking damage, destroy as many enemies as possible, and defeat the stage's boss as quickly as possible. With that, you will have a good challenge to complete all the achievements. Having a good evasion will be essential. CONCLUSION We don't see many spaceship games like this in the gaming market. The pace of the game helps a lot with the fun factor, which makes the game fast and challenging in the right measure. Initially, playing only with the keyboard, I had a lot of difficulty playing, but when I discovered that I had the option to aim with the mouse, it became a different game for me. Moving the ship with the mouse turns you into a true galactic pilot. The retro visuals and soundtrack are the draw for Ex-Zodiac, which rewards those who came for these factors, delivering a very fun game. The game is in early access at the time of this review, with levels being added little by little, but I say it's worth playing now and following Ex-Zodiac's evolution. SCORE: 8.0/10
- Review: Synergy
Survive, build, evolve and thrive. THE GAME Synergy is a city simulator game developed by Leikir Studio and published by Goblinz Publishing and H2 Interactive Co., Ltd. Living in a strange environment, your goal is to establish a city for your people while exploring and studying the natural resources so that your civilization can prosper. Send expeditions to go beyond your domains to gain more knowledge and attract more residents to your city. Planning your city is essential for its efficiency. MY IMPRESSIONS City-building games are usually complex, in the sense that there are many details to manage. Synergy is no different. Even though the tutorial teaches you everything, it can be tiring to read all the explanations and can even leave you a little lost with the amount of information there. Nothing that is unusual in a city-builder, as previously mentioned. As soon as the game lets go of your hand, a world of possibilities opens up and that is when you start to try everything you can. It is easy to get lost in the objective and, even though the game's art is very beautiful and stylish, I think it has a strong influence on this aspect. Even though it is full of tasks and details to be explored, the game being in Brazilian Portuguese helps a lot in understanding all the mechanics and directions that you have to take. It is important to say that you will also have to make some decisions throughout the expeditions, which can influence both for good and for bad, which can impact your resources and citizens. Thriving as a civilization is your main goal, always trying to keep your population healthy and meeting all the basic requirements for their coexistence, in addition to investing in research, exploration and even entertainment. All of this is essential for your city to gain great prosperity. Achieve goals to thrive. ACHIEVEMENTS The game doesn't have a large number of achievements, but it will provide you with a good level of challenge. Some of them include completing campaigns with a gold medal, maintaining a healthy number of citizens and no deaths, among other challenges that will require good management of your districts and your city. Getting 100% of the achievements will require a lot of time and attention. Research improvements to improve the quality of life for your people. CONCLUSION Synergy offers many features for city builder lovers. With beautiful art and interesting designs, even though they hindered my gameplay, they are a great attraction. Still, I feel that Synergy lacks something to fully engage me, something that keeps me playing without me noticing the time passing. I felt lost at many moments while playing, although I think the problem was with me. I think that for those who have been used to games of this style for a long time, they must have a completely different impression. SCORE: 7.5/10
- Review: Spilled!
Grab your boat and save marine life in Spilled! THE GAME Spilled! is an adventure game developed and distributed by Lente . Embark on a journey to clean the waters of different biomes , cleaning up oil spills and floating packages, putting out fires and saving marine life. Your boat will be equipped with the best to help you in this task. Relax and embark on this adventure to save the environment. Clear everything in front of you. MY IMPRESSIONS A short and relaxing game with a worthy purpose. Spilled! is a typical comfort game that hooks you with its simple gameplay and beautiful graphics . In addition, the game raises awareness about how pollution impacts marine life in a light and gentle way. You have the option to buy upgrades for your boat, which make your life easier when cleaning the waters. In addition, as you progress through the game, you receive some different equipment that will help you with the cleaning. Don't be scared by the length of the game , it is really short, but that is far from being a flaw. Lente, the game's creator, put a lot of effort into Spilled! and, considering that it is only her first game created, you can see that she did everything with great care. In fact, as indicated on the Steam page, part of the proceeds from each game purchased goes to WDC (Whale and Dolphin Conservation) , which makes the message conveyed by the game even more valuable. Save all marine life you encounter. ACHIEVEMENTS The achievements in Spilled! are pretty easy to complete. Completely clear all the biomes, reach the end of the game, and you'll have pretty much all the achievements. The only achievement you should pay attention to so you don't miss is putting out a specific bonfire. With that, your 100% will be easily achieved. Navigate through different biomes. CONCLUSION Ever since I first saw Spilled!, I really wanted to play it, both for its gameplay and its visuals. After I learned a little more about the project, reading a little about Lente, the game gained even more value to me. And from the brief contact I had with the game's creator via email, I can see how much love she has for her creation. Regarding the game's length, it's no surprise to anyone, since the game's description on Steam says that the game lasts approximately 1 hour. Don't fall into the trap of saying that a short game isn't worth the price it's being sold for. This narrative has been forced by people who think they know something about video games. Video games are more than just paying for game time , but unfortunately, not everyone thinks that way. Spilled! is the consolidation of the work of someone who put a lot of effort into bringing something they love to life. And that's very noble. SCORE: 8.0/10
