  • Review: Cook Serve Forever

When playing Cook Serve Forever, I recommend having a snack before starting, as you will be very hungry. THE GAME Cook Serve Forever is a cooking simulator developed and distributed by Vertigo Gaming Inc. We took over the kitchen in the shoes of Nori, a cook who, since she was a child, had the support of her mother to get her hands dirty in the kitchen, literally. She is the biggest fan of Rhubarb, a renowned chef who has her own television show and is Nori's inspiration. When the famous chef announces a big culinary competition, Nori and her girlfriend Brie leave everything behind and go in pursuit of their dream of winning the biggest culinary prize and, at the same time, getting out of financial tightness. Pay attention to the commands and cook the recipes correctly to make your customers happy. Win the hearts (and stomachs) of the citizens of Helianthus. MY IMPRESSIONS I really like the Cook, Serve, Delicious series! and how it evolved. If you've played it too, I should warn you: this game is NOT a sequel. It's important to warn you because if you expect something similar to other games, you might be disappointed. The idea here is to continue a universe, creating a gameplay variation. The game is in early access, that is, a lot can change. Keep this in mind. When playing, I felt like I was watching an animation that you would find in the Netflix catalogue. With wonderful voice acting and beautiful art, the game's story really immerses you. Speaking of art, food continues to be represented in a delicious way. Impossible not to salivate when seeing your finished dishes. At the moment, the game does not have Brazilian-Portuguese subtitles, unfortunately. Even, at times, while you are cooking, dialogues happen and, if you don't have a good ear to understand English, you end up missing some interactions. I confess that the new style of gameplay was like a roller coaster for me. Initially, I didn't see much of a problem, the whole mechanic of button sequences for each type of ingredient was interesting. In the end, perhaps because it was in early access and with a very small amount of content, the main mechanics of the game started to get tiresome. Repetition after repetition. Hopefully, when the game is complete, there will be ways to make the game more dynamic and varied. ACHIEVEMENTS The achievements available so far will require some patience. The most annoying thing to do are the level achievements, which consist of reaching a certain level in each location and receiving your stickers. As I said earlier, the game is very repetitive at this point. Even with the bonuses that help you level up, it's going to be pretty tiring. With the next updates, new achievements should appear and they will probably follow the same level idea, however, in the new locations that will be released. I hope that, somehow, mechanics are implemented that make this grind more dynamic and less boring. CONCLUSION Cook Serve Forever comes as a different approach of another games and I don't see that as a bad thing, however, the game needs a lot of dynamism. At the moment, the game is a lot of repetition and little variation. I understand that new content will be implemented, but what makes me curious is whether we will have something more in the game's core mechanics. Many times I didn't even know what recipe I was making, because the focus on pressing the correct buttons and quickly makes you simply forget the main point of the game, which is the food. Even with all of the above, I know what developers are capable of. The quality is maintained in everything, but they need to come up with new ideas to spice up the game a little more and give more prominence to the process and final result of the recipes. The characters and the story are pretty cool. This differential gives the game a charm and reminds us that here the approach is different. I like to think I'm playing an animated series, because that's how I feel when watching the cutscenes. An interesting curiosity is that all characters are named after ingredients, such as: Nori, Brie and Rhubarb. As a fan of the Cook Serve Delicious! series, I'm excited to see where this new journey takes us. I don't mind the style change at all, it's good to freshen up the air and expand the series. I just hope we get significant improvements. The game has potential and I'm sure that with the next updates it will improve a lot. SCORE: 7.0/10

  • Review: Unspottable

How good are you at pretending to be an NPC? In Unspottable, this skill will be tested to the fullest. THE GAME Unspottable is a multiplayer competitive game developed and distributed by GrosChevaux. With a good-humored atmosphere, Unspottable brings a game almost like a punching tag, where you and all the participants have the same appearance and must find yourself among the many identical characters on the screen. Found a player? Punch him! However, be careful and plan your actions well or the other players will know who you are. Blend in with the bots, act like one of them and try to find out who the real players are before they find out who you are. MY IMPRESSIONS The game is full of fun. The more people playing, the better it gets. The game's arts, although simple, are very expressive and follow the good mood that Unspottable wants to bring. The game has subtitles in Portuguese-Brazil, which helps explain each specific level. Speaking of phases, each map has a peculiarity that makes the game even more fun. Thus, the game does not become repetitive and keeps you healthy. You'll be better at one type of map or get the hang of one of them and that makes the competition much more interesting. The gameplay is simple and easy to understand. Even with the phase variations, the objectives and commands are explained at the beginning of each stage. The game shines when players have to disguise themselves among the various bots while trying to fulfill their mission, acting as if they were one of them. Bot programming is wonderful. You easily confuse some of them with other players. Anyway, everything is incredibly fun and will get you and your friends some great laughs and funny situations. ACHIEVEMENTS As it is a multiplayer game, almost entirely, the achievements will require you to be playing with more people. Three to four people, to be more exact, is enough to complete the vast majority. Many of them require specific situations that can happen naturally during game time. I had problems with some achievements, but I contacted the developers and they promptly responded and fixed the bugs, including giving me tips on how to complete them. I was very grateful for the agility and concern they had with me and the game. As I said before, some situations happen naturally after some time of play and you get the achievements, but some of them are really specific. You can force them with the help of some friends if you want to complete 100% of the achievements quickly. CONCLUSION If you have a group of friends and are looking for a fun, no-strings-attached game, I highly recommend playing Unspottable. The unpredictability of the game creates comical and chaotic situations that are sure to amuse you and your friends. I had a lot of fun playing and, despite having a good variety of levels, there are times when it gets repetitive, but that's only if you play for a long time at a time. Playing in short sessions is guaranteed fun for a long time. Apparently, there are plans for new phases, that is, what's good will get even better. I love this kind of game, where you get friends together and play something that doesn't require skill or where the outcome doesn't matter. I wish there were more games like this. Unspottable uses an innovative idea that I've never seen before in this way. If it continues to be updated and more content is added, Unspottable will become even more fun. If the developers' creativity is on the rise, there are plenty of ideas to explore. And, from my experience, the care and attention that the developers have with the game only makes me have more expectations that Unspottable only tends to get better than it already is. • Review: War Mongrels

I can't describe the pleasure it is to see an RTT style game in my hands, but I can say that it is something unique, maybe even one of the game styles I have been passionate about since I was a child. Unpretentiously when I first saw War Mongrels, I believed it would be just another game from this modern era of strategy games that would deliver a similar experience to Commandos, well, I can say I was completely wrong, War Mongrels, was unique and certainly enters my top 100 games of my life and what better way to honor a game than writing about it? Destructive Creations created and distributes War Mongrels, the same team that developed Space Raiders in Space, Ancestors Legacy and the controversial Hatred. So we can get an idea that the production company was already used to making similar games. The game is available on the following platforms: PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows, Xbox Series X and Series S, Mac OS, and PC via Steam. STORY The story revolves around World War II on the Eastern front. Like Finn Star Wars: The Force Awakens, our protagonists create a conscience, as they are Nazis who became aware of what they were doing and then decided to rebel, thus being deserters from the Nazi army. We begin with Manfred and Ewald, who reject the orders of their commanders and defect from the German army. During their escape, they meet other people who have joined the resistance to fight the Nazi threat. The main story of War Mongrels is not surprising, but it is well told and captivating. GRAPHICS War Mongrels is not only beautiful, it is possibly one of the most beautiful isometric view games I have ever had the pleasure of playing. Its fluidity and color palette that brings the look of reality closer to our own reality makes us not only immersed within the story but fascinated by its beautiful landscapes and historical settings. Violent landscapes and portrayal of reality, not afraid to use the Nazi swastika or show deaths by hanging, War Mongrels has excelled at extreme portrayal of the reality of the facts Each stage in War Mongrels is unique, there is nothing that we can say, look, this graphical element is not that cool, everything is very well done and polished. The character animations for example are incredible and realistic, when we enter combat mode the picture of our protagonists changes to something as if we had entered into a battle frenzy. I need to mention that I played this game through the Xbox Series X, without any kind of choking problem either. GAMEPLAY When I first played War Mongrels, I felt that I might not be able to do it properly, or that the game was not for me. This is due to the fact that War Mongrels on consoles has a much longer learning curve than is usual for games in general. This is something that can put off new players a bit, at least on consoles. You might not get used to the controls until about 5 or 6 hours into the game. There is still a lot of confusion regarding genre in relation to RTS and RTT. When we refer to real-time strategy games, we think of resource management, base building and logistics, such as Warcraft, Age of Empires and Star Craft. While the model we are analyzing (War Mongrels) refers to a Real-Time Tatics (RTT) game, we can cite as an example games such as Commandos, Desperados and others. These are related to tactical and operational aspects of warfare, exploring areas and terrain, and completing tasks with the game's methods. In light of this, War Mongrels is a GREAT RTT. Here, we have everything we expect from a complex and thorough gameplay. We have the tactical planning mode, where we can slow down time to plan actions together, but I missed the possibility of multiple actions, such as giving commands in sequence so that our actions could be even better planned and even facilitate escapes. Each character has its own abilities, advantages and disadvantages. Some are more efficient, like Manfred, who can whistle to attract enemies. While Ewald can use the "Fight" ability to kill more than one enemy at a time. Others leave something to be desired, such as Greta, used in a rather silly way, because she is the only woman in the group. She cannot crawl and is easily identified in stealth situations, which makes us a bit angry with the character. We also manage to get into a dynamic action mode, which is the game's combat mode, where the protagonists set out to use firearms. This mode works evenly, as perhaps the camera was lacking better refinement to make it completely stochastic. At times, it feels like there is a bit of screen missing so that we can hit our targets. Unfortunately, I only got one copy of the game, so I couldn't test the multiplayer mode, but it looks pretty cool too, maybe it will make the game easier(or not) ACHIEVEMENTS War Mongrels on easy is hard, and our portal reviews the achievements, but how far is it worth it for a game? It may be one of the coolest games we have ever had the pleasure to play, but is it worth it to face an extremely complex mission with details, timing and strategies that need to be very well thought out and executed and do everything in Time Trial on the hardest difficulty of the game? Well, if you want to complete all the achievements, I'll tell you in advance. It may be one of the most difficult games to accomplish in your life. I am saying this with my purest essence, which is playing hard games. With 63 hours of gameplay, I am one of four people in the world who have the most achievements on Xbox and I am far from finished. I will not do this now, but not at the present time, it will be a task for the future in a few years. I suggest that you play just for the fun of it, because finishing this game will give you at least 100 hours of play time if you try to complete everything. Destructive Creations could put everything it wanted into the challenges of War Mongrels, without the torturous race against time. Then it would be more appropriate to finish, and it might even change my opinion about the overall picture of this game, since we focused exactly on this part, the achievements. TRAILLER CONCLUSION After playing Desperados III, I thought RTT could rest for a while, as that to me was perhaps the highest point of where one could go based on narrative, graphics and gameplay. To me, they both resemble each other in every respect, they are games that are walking together. It was a delight to play War Mongrels, with charismatic and deep characters, betrayals, well told stories and fantastic settings. For sure, all these positive points put it in one of the best RTT games of this century and one of the main ones of the genre. Even though there are some minor flaws and problems that are perhaps lacking in the game, such as better step-by-step action planning, the game manages to hold its own from start to finish with fantastic moments and no drop in quality. There is also a room for a new story in one of the endings of the game, or maybe that was just my impression? I hope so, I hope that with Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew coming from Mimimi Games(Desperados), that we will see some amazing games in the not too distant future. I personally would like to see a War Mongrels 2, 3, 4, war mongrels underground 2. Review realizada através da Gamertag: Scoulz SCORE: 86/100

  • Review: Wild Dogs

Believe it or not, one of my first experiences with the Contra series was on the Game Boy, and it was definitely a lot of fun. Ever since then, I have really enjoyed this genre. When I saw the possibility of playing Wild Dogs, I also had the opportunity to revisit a style of game that I hadn't gotten my hands on in a long time. But is Wild Dogs just a good versus style game or is it more than that? Wild Dogs was created by a small indie studio right here in Brazil, in Santa Catarina. 2ndBoss was already used to developing other platform-style games, and they have excelled in the delivery of their new game. Wild Dogs, with a great soundtrack and challenging gameplay at the ideal level, is a great milestone in the Brazilian game industry. The game is available on the following platforms: Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam,. STORY Wild Dogs is set in a world suffering from an alien invasion. We play as Frank Williams and his faithful and unusual companion in this adventure, the little dog Teddy. We go through various apocalyptic scenarios, motorcycle races, battles with mechas and unusual outcomes until we reach our final goal. GRÁFICOS The monochromatic pixel-art backdrops of Wild Dogs do indeed add a touch of charm to the game, but they also leave one in doubt that this game could be much more beautiful and polished if it had its own robust color palette. Perhaps we can see the lack of more effective designer work when we see the game's cover. I would say that it is not something that does justice to the rest of the game, and I am sure this may turn some people away from clicking on this game in their first experience. Even though it is simple art, the richness of detail of the pixel-art is very satisfying and beautiful in many moments of the game. GAMEPLAY Being a great run-and-gun game, those who think Wild Dogs is just a Contra-Style game are mistaken, it is much more than that. The inspiration for various types of genres is quite evident in Wild Dogs. The main inspiration, of course, is the classic Contra. Certainly, the game manages to improve old formulas and revitalize the genre in a natural way, as if it were an evolution of the old mechanics applied today. Wild Dogs also draws from sources such as R-Type, Megaman, Battletoads, and several others. The classic motorcycle obstacle course from Battletoads, applied in this game, is one of the stages I had the most difficulty getting through. Here, we will experience genres such as Shot-and-up, Run-and-Gun, side-scrolling shooter, and several others in each of the stages, facing several mini-bosses until we reach the Boss of the stage. Each of them is unique and very well designed so that you can learn the mechanics and dodge their blows. ACHIEVEMENTS Here we find one of the problems I have been mentioning in the indie game industry and even games with a bigger budget, the lack of creativity in achievements and the appeal of completionists. Wild Dogs is simply inefficient in the achievements, and you simply have to complete the game to reach 100% without any difficulty. A shame for a game as good as this. I think it should have had more attention paid to this aspect. TRAILER OFICIAL CONCLUSÃO It is surprising that everything Wild Dogs sets out to do is not only successful, but there is not a phase of the game where you encounter a drop in quality or you start to lose interest. All of the stages and play styles are extremely well crafted and with several references to the more intense and fun games of the 8/16 bit era. The game is a lot of fun and has a very unusual and funny ending. Wild Dogs is a pleasant surprise of the Brazilian indie games of recent times. I can put it in the same list as Blazing Chrome, for example. Its difficulty is low in some levels, but nothing that is impossible or that you can get stuck somewhere. • Review: Steel Racer

The 90's called and Steel Racer answered the call. THE GAME Steel Racer is a racing game developed and distributed by lightUP. In the best Top Gear style, Steel Racer brings all the elements of old racing games in a polished and pleasant way. As a racer, your mission is to complete all five seasons and become a true steel racer . Buy upgrades for your car, turn up the sound and hit the gas! IMPRESSIONS The game itself is pretty simple: you win ten races in a season and move on to the next one. Those who already know games like Top Gear and Horizon Chase Turbo will find the same kind of gameplay and spirit here. The soundtrack, along with the sound of your car, create the perfect atmosphere for this type of game. Add this to the simple graphics and classic scenery movement of this type of game and you have a combination that smells of the 90s. This game was entirely created by a Brazilian who, as I understand it, did everything himself. That in itself is amazing . Knowing this, we may feel some limitations, however, they are totally understandable. Because it was so simple, I felt that it lacked some variations in the races. All tracks basically have the same setting in each season and that makes it more of the same. I didn't feel that the upgrades I was doing to my car were visible. I also missed a minimap to get a sense of the track and how far I had traveled. The look of the car could also be more unique, as all the colors you use on it are the same as those of your opponents. By using exclusive colors, I believe that it would have a greater effect of protagonism for those who play. Perhaps because I finished the game in one afternoon, I found it tiring and too repetitive. Still, it's a very fun game and, for those who lived through the 90s like me, it will give you a slight nostalgia. ACHIEVEMENTS Game achievements are easy to complete. If you collect all the money you can in the races and win them all, you're guaranteed 100% . CONCLUSION Steel Racer is a great pastime . It's not difficult, but it's not just speeding up without thinking either. It has some settings that can make or break your game, which can give you a little more challenge. As I mentioned earlier, the game has its limitations and can be improved in small ways to be more complete and, even so, it is a great game made by one person . You'll have good fun, but I advise you to play in short doses to better enjoy the game and not get bored. I am happy that we have more and more Brazilian developers venturing into indie games. I really appreciate that this scenario grows more and more and I come across several games that I didn't even imagine had the hands of Brazilians. We're on a great path . SCORE: 6.0/10

  • Review: Starship Troopers: Extermination

Starship Troopers is with me since I was a kid, I think many people have watched this hit on TV Globo. With failures in sequels, the franchise never managed to repeat the success of the last movie, but in games it has been different, with a good strategy game released in recent years, the franchise now ventures into the FPS genre, but so what? did it work? Starship Troopers: Extermination was developed and published by Offworld Industries, a developer that had a good experience with FPS games. As such, we believe Starship Troopers: Extermination was a great way to expand this fun universe that originated in the novels by Robert A. Heinlein. The game is available on the following platform: PC via Steam Visual It is worth noting that Starship Troopers: Extermination is a beautiful game, which is very faithful to the movie franchise, but suffers from several optimization problems. At times, the game was hitting 20FPS on an RTX 3090 at the time we were reviewing it. Even though there are performance issues, the game's good visuals initially showed great potential for diverse maps and more varied biomes that may appear in the full version of the game. Unfortunately, it is still too early to criticize the game in this respect. GAMEPLAY The gameplay of Starship Troopers: Extermination is extremely attractive, intense and fun. It is a lot of fun to build bases and sit on the damn bugs of the franchise. You must choose between three classes: Bastion, Hunter, and Operator. There is a rank progression system, one of rank and one for classes, which gives you access to the primary, secondary and accessory weapons of the rank. If you play two or three matches, you can have fun, but what about after that? The current state of the game is raw, with only one map for the main mode, which has three modes: defend and attack a base, capture a flag, and collect minerals in the scenario, and it seems that the players don't know what to do with it yet, so it seems that everyone gets a bit lost in the middle of the vastness of the desert sands. But at least the game uses creativity to switch between different positions on the map to give the feeling of greater variety of options. ACHIEVEMENTS There were still no achievements to be had in the game at the time of this review. As it is an early access game, they will probably be added in the future. TRAILER OFICIAL CONCLUSÃO It seems to be hard to review Starship Troopers: Extermination. It looks like it will be a good game someday. Maybe the early access will last a few good years, because the game is quite fun, but it is still very incomplete, lacking maps, customizations, optimization and many things that a good game should have. It even seems that the game needed to come out to test its audience and we believe that this may have been successful, since it has good reviews on Steam. However, it is undeniable that, although fun, it is an incomplete game. Reviewed by Gamertag: Scoulz SCORE: 60/100

  • Review: Timberborn

What would happen if all of humanity went extinct and beavers became the next step in evolution? Timberborn shows us that Earth would be in good hands. THE GAME Timberborn is a city builder developed and distributed by Mechanistry. A drought caused by mankind was the cause of its own undoing. However, nature always finds a way to carry on and some species have adapted and created large cities. Timberborn puts you in charge of a society of beavers that must survive the dry spells, creating a solid foundation for its citizens to stay alive, comfortable and happy. Build your city, move mountains, tame the water and keep your beavers healthy so they can survive another day. The beginning of a great society. MY IMPRESSIONS Building cities is always fun and enjoyable. In Timberborn it would be no different. It's a well-made game, with mechanics that seem complex but are easy and fun to pick up. You feel excited about increasing the size of your city, and before you know it, hours have passed. Structures are being unlocked and the curiosity to use them moves you to continue expanding. The game is still in early access and receives updates frequently. At the moment, we can play with two beaver factions, which have unique characteristics and builds. With drought cycles, beavers always need to prepare for the next one, stocking up on food and water, creating ways to stay alive until the arid period is over. When starting a new map, a range of ideas will come to mind. Where to build your city and how to place buildings efficiently will be valid concerns, as it makes a huge difference. The vertical buildings above the river make the sky the limit for your imagination. The game is in Portuguese-Brazil, which greatly facilitates the understanding of structures. For those of you who love to build, we even have a map editor mode. The objective of the game is simple: survive. There are no big goals here. Some will feel it lacks a greater purpose, however, the whole idea of the game is city building. And Timberborn does it very well. Very satisfying to see a functional city. ACHIEVEMENTS Unfortunately, the game has no achievements so far. Since it's in early access, we can expect something in the future. It would be a great addition to the game, in my opinion, as it would add an extra appeal to those looking for a challenge. Beavers also has happy hour. CONCLUSION Timberborn is a very fun and well-made game. Although simple, it will hook you for a long time. Each update improves the quality of life even more, which shows how concerned the developers are with their game and players. I dare say that the game will have twice as much content as it has today. Everything is well thought out and made with care. Despite the repetition of cycles, the game does not get tiring. You'll always want to keep building and improving your city until the next drought hits. And every time it's different, because the game propels you forward in a light way that makes you explore and make mistakes. And you'll make a lot of mistakes, flooding everything or making all your beavers die, but it's all part of learning, which is easy and fast. The game won't require much of you and caring for your beavers will be therapeutic. It's worth checking out the game and where it's headed. The developers are well on their way to making Timberborn something memorable and enjoyable to play. SCORE: 8.5/10

  • Review: Lunark

Which game do you remember when referring to the platform? Mario, perhaps, is the main one, right? However, this type of genre expanded and was created in such a diverse way that today we have several other styles of games within the platform genre that, sometimes, become difficult to compare with Nintendo's mustache. Lunark is an example of this, it is clearly inspired by other great platformers such as Prince of Persia, Flashback and Another World, it presents a revitalization for the genre in its own vast and unique world, including approaching part of a dystopian future and with great potential for growth. Created by Canari Games, a new Canadian company, they claim to be specialists in retro style games and were created by Johan Vinet, who has worked on popular games like Flinthook, Mercenary Kings Reloaded, Shovel Knight Showdown and Rivals Of Aether. The game is available on the following platforms: Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Microsoft Windows, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Series S, Mac OS. STORY Who says indie games don't have a good story? Lunark has a well-built story around our protagonist Leo, a typical messenger who, after being sent on a mission in search of an object, realizes that someone wants to frame him. We see inspiration from Blade Runner, other classic Sci-Fi and pop culture movies. GRAPHICS Lunark has pixel-art graphics, with a wide variety of details and a very different color palette for each stage. The theme of the game satisfactorily combines the graphic aspect with the gaming experience. With some fast and well-crafted animations, realistic to a certain extent, the game stands out in several moments in the visual part. There are some animations that the developer made with a low-cost type of motion capture to be created that, by the way, were extremely neat. GAMEPLAY Lunark's gameplay is simple, we have to talk to PCNs and face agility, precision and timing challenges. It is crucial to understand the dynamics of our weapon and the accuracy of its jumps in this game, since, if you miss a jump or lose all your hearts, you will be able to return to a checkpoint located at a considerable distance from the point where you were. One of the last challenges in Lunark is traversing a line of obstacles and jump in the dark challenges, which made for a very fun and challenging experience towards the end of the game. The few bosses in the game are quite different, but in a short time, you can follow the pattern of each one of them. Most of the enemies present in the game have repetitive characteristics and are easy to overcome. There are some glitches regarding jumping, for example, in a part of the game where my controls weren't responding properly and I was jumping to my death without having pressed any buttons. TRAILER OFICIAL CONCLUSÃO Accomplishing the Lunark achievements is somewhat rewarding, as great care is taken at this point in the game. There are achievements related to the story, the collectibles (which are few) and the internal challenges of the game. It's not that difficult to reach all of Lunark's achievements, perhaps the only one you'll have to face is Invisible Man, where you'll have to pass practically the entire chapter without being seen by guards and lasers. Overall, the game is pretty neat in that regard. Review on Gamertag: Scoulz SCORE: 80/100

  • Review: Railbound

Where did we miss the essence of a game not being relaxing? Railbound is a demonstration that we still have hope! Railbound was created and distributed by Afterburn, a developer that was already flirting with the puzzle genre and other more contemplative and cuter types of games for some time, having also developed Golf Peaks and Inbento. The game is available on the following platforms: iOS, Microsoft Windows, Xbox Series X and Series S, Mac OS VISUAL Cute and unique is how I would describe the graphical aspects of Railbound. Everything in the game is done with great care and we noticed this during our gameplay, with relaxing music and sound effects that give the game a very high quality. The game is developed in Unity, which despite some people turning their noses up at this engine, was very competent in everything it undertook, especially in the simple but well-made animations. GAMEPLAY Railbound focuses on puzzles of fitting train cars, giving a path with fixed rails and a small amount of rails to position as we wish, making curves and modifying the routes of our trains, but the main objective of Railbound is to make us think about the best way to place all the wagons coupled to the main train. The game has more than 100 levels, with worlds that focus on specific dynamics. For example, we have a whole world focused on tunnels. In the next world, we have another type of variation that also aggregates the tunnels, making each world more challenging and complex to the point of making us think for a few minutes before executing our final plan. The gameplay itself isn't anything extraordinary that we haven't seen in the industry before, but it does everything very efficiently, making the game an excellent game in terms of balance of difficulty and pleasure, accomplishing the levels. CONQUISTAS Railbound's achievements are quite simple, just completing the extra worlds and stages. There are a few achievements where you have to fail or otherwise connect the wagons, but nothing too complex. In a few hours, you'll be able to complete all the achievements without any problems. TRAILER OFICIAL CONCLUSION Railbound is a relief for the eyes, in the midst of so many beat and bomb shooting games, frantic with parry and timing actions. Fluffy, tough and relaxing, a combination that's hard to achieve, it manages to pull it off masterfully. The game is well thought out in each phase, from the most difficult to the introductory ones. We follow a relaxing soundtrack while we solve the puzzles. I just didn't have any bugs or anything that affected my gaming experience. Games like Railbound should be made more often, and I'll be watching this developer closely, just waiting for their next release. Review on Gamertag: Scoulz SCORE: 75/100

  • Review: Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew DEMO

After Desperados III, when a company reaches its technical apex of a genre, where can it improve and improve? That's what we set out to discover with Mimimi's latest RTT title, Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew. Mimimi Games has developed and released Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew, one of the games in the strategy RTT subgenre that the developer gives us the air of grace. Mimimi is one of the main players responsible for reviving the genre in the modern era of strategy games. The game is available on the following platforms: PlayStation 5, Microsoft Windows, Xbox Series X and Series S RESUME Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew features a wide variety of genres within its core features as a strategy game. Something that has enormous potential, which is the ship's management system. At first, it might be a little disappointing with the amount of conversations we can have, but since it's a demo of the game, we believe that, practically, we won't have any more dialogue related to this area. We can use a black pearl to resurrect some crew inside our ship. One of the most interesting things about this game is being able to assemble the crew however we want and set out on a new mission. I think that, in the first phases, it won't make that much difference, but, from the middle to the end, it will be really amazing! Shadow Gambit isn't afraid to think of itself as a funny game, and that's great. My main doubt regarding the game is that the game seemed to be extremely easy, considering that the characters seem to be too overpowered for a conventional RTT game. Raising the difficulty can raise the bar in this regard, but I believe a game shouldn't be extremely easy at the normal level. I say this in view of the company's excellent previous title: Desperados III, where the difficulty was perfectly balanced. It could be that the ability cap or higher cooldown makes your character more interesting to balance the level with others. OFFICIAL TRAILER CONCLUSION Animations, dubbing, thematic soundtrack... all very well done, cartoonish and charismatic characters, abuse of visual effects at Mimimi's apex. When analyzing these points, I believe that, after the experience you had with Desperados III, nothing can go wrong, right? Well, time will tell. In fact, Shadow Gambit is a well-crafted game and seems to have great potential to delve deeper into the RTT genre. The game's optimization is very good and there is also a translation into Portuguese, including in this very early demo version. The movement and fluidity of the game are wonderful, I have no doubts about the technical part of the game. There are some things that need to be polished and better placed, but overall, the game has great potential for growth and exploration in other types of genres even in an RTT game. DEMO SCORE: 82

  • Review: Toodee and Topdee

Puzzle games are always welcome and Toodee and Topdee show that innovating in cooperative mechanics (or not) can make a game very special. GAMEPLAY We split into two main characters who give the game its name. We control one at a time (even in co-op mode). The game is quite simple, what gives an innovative tone is the perspective approach. While one of our protagonists has a platform game perspective, the other interprets the perspective in an isometric way. It is necessary to combine both approaches to solve puzzles in the game. We go through different worlds facing their bosses and the difficulty is to climb. Maybe making it playable with both characters in co-op mode would have given it a different glow and even an extra reason to play with a friend. ACHIEVEMENTS Toodee and Topdee's achievements are not friendly, which makes the game extremely frustrating, as we have to solve the challenges within the established minimum time, which is not a simple task. Another problem is that we need to do as little interleaving as possible between the characters. I confess that this is the most frustrating part of this game, as I would have been very satisfied if the achievements were not so demanding on the part of the game, since, to reach perfection in some phases, it is necessary to be almost a pro-player to do it it without a guide. OFFICIAL TRAILER RESUME Toodee and Topdee is quite challenging, despite its achievements being considered frustrating and unpleasant, but if you don't mind that, you will certainly have a satisfying experience until the mid-game, when it can become challenging in itself. The game is innovative in cooperation and vision perspective in the genre. The stages are well built and so are the enemies. I recommend this game for those who want an extra challenge, as it is quite a difficult game by similar puzzle game standards. Review by Gamertag: Scoulz Nota: 60/100

  • Review: Batboy

Playing a game that is inspired by old games is always a pleasure. When I visited the great Shovel Knight, which definitely should be the standard for rescuing a gameplay style and modernizing it in a decent way, it was then that years later I had the opportunity to play Batboy, a game also inspired by 8-bit games. Would he be able to rescue the success of one of the best eras of games? Batboy was developed and published by the X PLUS Company and managed to be released through crowdfunding on Kickstarter, managing to raise about 250 thousand dollars for the development and marketing of the game. The game is available on the following platforms: Microsoft Windows, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Series S, Mac OS, Playstation 4 and Playstation 5. STORY With a variety of sports characters as protagonists and antagonists of the main story, we are placed in the shoes of Ryosuke, and we need to rescue our friends from brainwashing, bringing them back to our side. Batboy is very much like an anime story and draws heavily from that source in that regard. VISUAL Batboy is a very intuitive game in its visuals. It seems that we are playing an old-fashioned game, but, of course, with all the modern gameplay and current fluidity. Batboy has some pretty cool cutscenes, but they're few. The design of each of the bosses is quite unique and they are easily recognizable by their unique and varied abilities. Very varied scenarios and with an incredible and well-diversified range of colors, Batboy is very colorful and beautiful within its proposal, leaving nothing to be desired for more prestigious games in the sequel. GAMEPLAY In Batboy there are several types of gameplay mechanics and as the story progresses, we defeat some bosses and acquire powers related to the defeated boss, such as, for example, dash, create a bubble in the water to survive submerged longer, etc. It's pretty clear that there's a Megaman inspiration in that regard and the game applies that very capably, however, I felt that the early mechanics with the bat lost some of their luster over time and if there was a progression related to that , it would be amazing. The fact is that Batboy adopts many mechanics that make gameplay much easier, including the fight with bosses that could be more difficult. I even thought that some paths were more difficult than the final fight with the Boss. ACHIEVEMENTS Batboy's achievements are relatively simple related to his progress, but there are four common collectibles within each of the phases with the exception of the last one, which are three seeds, one of each color, two corresponding to the location and challenge of collecting them, some they are really well hidden, so you will probably have to go back in some stages to find some that will be left behind, the other one is with a buy NPC that sells this seed for 300 coins. And we also have the cassette tape, which usually stays in a puzzle made just for it within the dynamics of the level itself. There are also some cute puppies that need to be rescued and they are much more hidden than the other collectibles. I have to say that personally, I hate collectibles that are hidden like this. OFFICIAL TRAILER CONCLUSION Batboy can be both challenging and frustrating, the game has a high difficulty, but often because of the inaccurate hit-box and unnaturally delayed movements, there seems to be a little input lag in the game that we don't have much to understand why. , perhaps something related to the applied engine. I believed that the mechanic of hitting the balls with the bat would be better applied, but unfortunately it is something that we end up not using as much as the game goes on, some mechanics are a little behind and do not evolve with our own progress. Despite the problems involved in the mechanics, Batboy is a fun game, which tells a very cool story, the game hits a lot in the variety of bosses and unique abilities of each one of them.
