- Review: Yasha Legends of the Demon Blade
ATTENTION: THIS REVIEW WAS MADE BASED ON THE DEMO VERSION OF THE GAME. Prepare your weapons to defeat hordes of demons. THE GAME Yasha: Legends of the Demon Blade is a roguelite action game developed by 7QUARK and published by 7QUARK and Game Source Entertainment . Set in the Edo period, you will embark on an adventure where humans and demons live a delicate relationship. This relationship is broken when the nine-tailed fox spreads chaos throughout the human domains. In search of peace, our warriors will face several demons to restore balance. Face powerful enemies. MY IMPRESSIONS With a variety of moves and combos, as well as different characters, it's hard not to like the combat in Yasha: Legends of the Demon Blade. The three playable characters have their own quirks and styles, which makes the game very versatile in its combat. Dodges and blocks are also present, further increasing the range of possible combos. Improvements, both for the character and weapons, are also an important factor, as each element of the game has its own style and effect, which will depend on your way of playing and how best to adapt. You may end up getting lost at first with so many commands, but you'll soon get used to it. The game's art is very beautiful and colorful, full of effects that match the elements used, almost like a painting on the canvas. The game is in Brazilian Portuguese , which makes it easier to understand the mechanics and follow the stories. Despite the very fluid gameplay and captivating art , at times I felt that the game was very generic, as if something was still missing. Still, it's a fun roguelite that will probably keep you hooked when it's released. And also face giant enemies. ACHIEVEMENTS Since it's a demo version of the game, I didn't have access to the achievements, although the Steam page indicates that the full game will have achievements , which is good news. When you play, you can already see some probable objectives and I believe they will be very challenging achievements. Use all possible combos. CONCLUSION The vibrant, artistic visuals really caught my attention when I played Yasha: Legends of the Demon Blade. Although it's a short demo, you can already get a feel for how the game will play. Even though it has a lot of potential, I felt like the game didn't captivate me , even though I liked everything it had to offer. As I said before, I feel like something is missing, some element that I can't explain, but that is missing. I hope that when I play the full game, I can find that element. SCORE: 7.5/10
- Review: Shadow of the Orient
Shadow of the Orient is a 2D action-adventure platformer. Games-Review-Análises-Conquistas-Achievements GAMEPLAY / VISUAL The gameplay mechanics in Shadow of the Orient feel somewhat imprecise. Often, players need to chase down enemies to engage them, and the hitbox isn't as fair as it could be. The game includes secret passages and other elements that add a certain charm to the experience. The visuals and animations are decent, with a strong influence from oriental culture. One standout aspect is the weapon design: throughout the game, players find different equipment, such as swords, which change how they face enemies. The weight of the sword, for example, directly affects gameplay, requiring adaptation from the player—a welcome detail that could be explored more in other games. ACHIEVEMENTS At the time of this review, Shadow of the Orient did not have achievements available on Xbox for evaluation. Therefore, this section is based on the Steam achievements. As we always emphasize, being a channel focused on achievements, it is frustrating to see the game following the classic combo that all achievement hunters dislike: excessive collectibles. Among the challenges are collecting hundreds of scattered items, such as lost children, chests, or secret areas. This kind of design shows a certain lack of creativity in crafting achievements, something we've pointed out many times before. Even players who genuinely enjoy an indie title like this rarely feel motivated to go for 100% completion when achievements are solely collectible-based. Ideally, achievements should focus on gameplay challenges, encouraging exploration and mastery in a more engaging and rewarding way. TRAILER OFFICIAL RESUME Shadow of the Orient is a simple title that could have benefited from better-refined mechanics. If its gameplay had been more polished, the final experience would have been much more satisfying, especially within its genre. Overall, the game delivers a decent experience with an interesting visual style, though it strongly resembles a mobile game. SCORE:6.7/10 Games-Review-Análises-Conquistas-Achievements
- Review: MULLET MADJACK(XBOX)
MULLET MADJACK is a contemporary classic that brings out the best of nostalgia, with fast-paced and addictive gameplay. Games-Review-Análises-Conquistas-Achievements GAMEPLAY / VISUAL From the very start, players are thrown into a frantic mission to rescue a princess, battling through floors in an intense climb to reach the game’s objectives. However, any mistake results in a complete reset, sending us back to the beginning. The core gameplay revolves around a 10-second time limit to defeat all enemies. Each enemy eliminated grants additional time, keeping the pace fast and challenging. One of the game's biggest highlights is its outstanding voice acting. Not only is it incredibly well done, but it also references iconic classics like Yu Yu Hakusho , further enriching the experience. It’s always exciting to see a game with such a strong identity and unique characteristics. Mullet Madjack stands out as one of the best-executed Brazilian games of all time, featuring a striking visual style clearly inspired by Neo-Tokyo from Akira . Moreover, the game presents a meta-narrative, almost like a “game within a game.” At any moment, players can pause to check what’s happening with their live stream, which is supposedly being broadcast in real-time during the gameplay. This adds an extra layer of originality to the experience, reinforcing its unique design. The game also brings in nostalgic references that resonate with players worldwide. A great example is the inclusion of Tamagotchis , popularly known as virtual pets, a childhood staple for many. These small details make the game even more immersive, connecting players to their own nostalgic memories while they dive into its high-intensity action. ACHIEVEMENTS Mullet Madjack is a prime example of how achievements should be designed in video games. In an industry where many titles rely on repetitive and frustrating challenges—like “finish the game without dying” or “collect every single item on the map”—this game takes a more balanced and well-thought-out approach. The achievements are not impossible; some are challenging, but most are naturally obtained through gameplay. We always emphasize this: achievements should be part of the experience, not an exhausting grind that demands 200 hours for a game that should be enjoyed at its own pace. The biggest difference in Mullet Madjack is that every achievement makes sense within the game—whether it’s related to specific game modes, settings, weapon upgrades, or strategic enemy eliminations. Gamification should be considered from the beginning of development, not as an afterthought. Mullet Madjack demonstrates how to do this intelligently and engagingly, setting an example for other studios to follow. TRAILER OFFICIAL RESUME Some games appear only once in a generation, and Mullet Madjack is one of those rare gems. For Brazilian players, it’s a true delight, packed with culturally specific references in its voice acting. But its appeal extends far beyond, offering an exhilarating experience for international audiences as well. Without a doubt, it’s one of the most fun games I’ve ever played. The voice acting is a standout feature, featuring legendary actors like Gilberto Baroli ( Saga from Saint Seiya ) and Luiz Feier Motta ( Sylvester Stallone’s official Brazilian voice ). And that’s just a glimpse—the entire cast is made up of icons of Brazilian dubbing, making every dialogue unforgettable. Mullet Madjack was released recently, but it’s already one of the greatest Brazilian-developed games of all time. The developers nailed it, delivering an intense and engaging experience. If there’s one thing I would have liked to see, it’s a bit more enemy variety throughout the game. Other than that, I have no complaints—I genuinely enjoyed everything about it. And if I had to describe this game in one word, it would be absurd —in the best way possible. Review by gamertag: Scoulz SCORE:9.6/10 Games-Review-Análises-Conquistas-Achievements
- Review: Metal Suits Counter Attack
Put on your best and most armed suit and battle against the most diverse space beings. THE GAME Metal Suits: Counter Attack is an action platform game developed and distributed by Eggtart Inc . In the distant year of 4373, Kevin , a retired, sick and old war hero, is resting in his ship when the Golida aliens begin an invasion of the planet and attack Kevin's ship that was in orbit. In the process, Andy , Kevin's robot dog and companion, is destroyed and our old hero loses a large part of his body. Kevin ends up becoming a cyborg and is forced to come out of retirement to take revenge on the terrible Golida aliens, equipping himself with the most diverse armors he has at his disposal. Death rays? We have them. MY IMPRESSIONS Who doesn't like power-ups, right? In Metal Suits: Counter Attack, this is the factor that draws the most attention. With several types of armor that alter your attacks, you advance through the levels and destroy enemies with all the firepower possible . In addition, all of them have super attacks for those situations where you need to clear the stage that is full of enemies or to deal more damage to one of the bosses. The levels don't demand much from the player, and the fact that you will almost always have armor makes it very difficult to be defeated by an enemy. Shooting and sweeping everything you see in front of you is the spirit of the game, which causes several explosions and chain reactions. Exploring every corner of the level will always reward you , whether with hidden collectibles or improvements. The game's art is very beautiful and colorful, full of sparkles and effects when using your attacks, which make everything more pyrotechnic. The game is in Brazilian Portuguese , which makes it easier to follow the story, even though it is only there to be your reason for the adventure, without drawing too much attention. The game really shines in its carefree fun factor, which is great for a casual game . Infinite explosions. ACHIEVEMENTS The achievements in Metal Suits: Counter Attack are simple and to the point . You will basically need to: defeat a specific number of enemies, complete the game on all difficulties and collect all the collectibles in the game. I think it is quite fair for what the game proposes and it still remains an honest challenge to get 100% of the achievements. Too satisfying rays. CONCLUSION When playing Metal Suits: Counter Attack, two references immediately came to mind that may have been the developers' as well: Broforce and Metal Slug. With many elements from these two games, it's hard not to have fun . It's a very honest game, with a very high fun factor, that rewards you for exploring the maps, even if the premise is to go around destroying everything you see in front of you. Although it may seem generic at times, its aesthetics have their charm, even if most of the enemies are completely forgettable due to their uninspired designs. It's a great game to pass the time, without pressure , just enjoying the frenetic gameplay full of explosions and lightning. Metal Suits: Counter Attack will give you fun and you won't regret it. SCORE: 7.5/10
- Review: The Bench
ATTENTION: THIS REVIEW WAS MADE BASED ON THE DEMO VERSION OF THE GAME. Take your bread, sit on the park bench and feed your army of pigeons. THE GAME The Bench is a puzzle game developed by Voxel Studios and published by Noovola . Embark on an adventure full of humor and a hint of mystery as an old man who just wanted to solve his crossword puzzles, but got too involved with the pigeons . Explore the scenarios and solve puzzles to advance. They seem harmless, but they are not. MY IMPRESSIONS As already mentioned at the beginning, this review is based on the demo version of the game and this should be taken into consideration. Even though it is a very short demo, The Bench already shows what it is capable of. By teaching the basic mechanics of the game in a simple way, you are encouraged to observe and use the environment to your advantage and, of course, with the help of the pigeons that surround you in search of some bread. The game is in Brazilian Portuguese , which helps you to follow the story. The art combined with the good humor that is presented to us generates a feeling of fun, which goes well with the game's proposal. Even though it may seem confusing with so many elements to interact with, all the stages keep you on a certain path and, even if you don't know what to do, the stage itself will guide you through how it is laid out. The Bench is a very casual and relaxing game , very comfortable to pass the time., muito confortável para passar o tempo. Good old chess in the square. ACHIEVEMENTS From what is indicated on the game's Steam page, it is expected that the game will have achievements . And it is clear that it will, as we can see them implemented based on various elements of the game. I can't wait to see how creative these achievements will be. A piece of bread can take you far, believe me. CONCLUSION I'm looking forward to playing the full version of The Bench. I can't wait to see where this old man and his pigeons will end up in this adventure. Although I found a few bugs, I believe the final version will be very polished. I hope the main mechanic of the game, which is throwing bread so that the pigeons will come to it, will be explored in some very creative ways and that the puzzles will remain at the level presented in this demo. The Bench has everything it needs to be a very fun and entertaining game. SCORE: 7.5/10
- Review: Microtopia
Manage a colony of robot ants with a single goal: to reproduce. THE GAME Microtopia is a management and logic game developed by Cordyceps Collective and distributed by Goblinz Publishing and Gamera Games . In command of a colony of robot ants, your goal is to reproduce your species and expand your domains in search of new resources to improve your population and evolve. Create collection and production lines with your robot ants, using a lot of logic to make everything more efficient and effective. Expand to evolve. MY IMPRESSIONS The best way to define a good management game is whether it is addictive or not. And Microtopia is truly addictive . Although it may seem confusing at first, the game is very logic-based. A good example of this is the paths that guide the robot ants, which can have different logics that interact with many of the game's mechanics. Don't worry, the logic used here is easy to understand. If you can't progress, be sure that it's because you haven't tried some of these logics yet. At the moment, the game is not in Brazilian Portuguese , which is a shame, because it can put off many people who don't speak English and may not understand what is being explained. The variety of types of robot ants is great and you can be sure that you will need to use all of them at some point, because each one of them has its own importance . They are essential to advance in the game. Creating automations with the paths that guide the robot ants makes everything very enjoyable, when everything works as you planned. And if it doesn't work out? Figuring out how to make it work is also very cool. And therein lies the challenging factor of the game, which will keep you hooked and make you spend hours watching robot ants at work. Microtopia combines management and logic in an exquisite way. Be careful not to make a mess of everything. ACHIEVEMENTS Microtopia's achievements are pretty straightforward . They're all tied to your progress in the game, whether it's building certain machines, creating new robot ants, or reaching new islands. You'll most likely get all of the achievements if you complete all of the game's objectives, which can take a while . Each robot ant has its function. CONCLUSION I'm addicted to automation games. Even though they may seem like bureaucratic and monotonous games, they're quite the opposite. When you start playing and understand the logic, it's satisfying to get everything working. I admit that it can seem confusing, especially when you start to have a lot of things on the screen and you hadn't thought from the beginning about arranging the structures to make everything easier. However, from the moment you can clearly see what's happening, you see the fun. We need more games like this, which work as a way to work your brain, which will annoy you for not being able to do it, but where the reward is gratifying . SCORE: 8.5/10
- Review: Tavern Manager Simulator
Open your own medieval tavern and please your customers with the best beer in the region. THE GAME Tavern Manager Simulator is a management game developed and published by One More Time . Tasked with restoring and managing an old tavern in a medieval kingdom, your mission is to restore the place to its former glory . To do this, you will have to repair, restore and furnish your tavern to attract customers, as well as replenish your stock with beer and food to meet the demands. You will also have to deal with a variety of problems, such as thieves who steal your stock or dirty customers who leave a trail of dirt behind when they enter your establishment. Manage all of this and more as you strive to make your tavern recognized as the best establishment in the region. Fill the tray and fulfill orders as quickly as possible. MY IMPRESSIONS If you think you'll have to do thousands of tasks at the same time to keep your tavern running, you're not entirely wrong . Initially, you'll have a lot of work to do on your own, but since your tavern will still be small, it won't be that much of a problem. Once your tavern reaches a certain level, you'll be able to hire fairies, who will help you with some tasks, which frees you up a bit more from some tasks. However, despite this, of the possible tasks, I would say that only three are really useful: washing dishes, cleaning the tavern, and serving customers. The other tasks, which are preparing food and restocking shelves and beer, may even seem useful, but the quality of the products will always be standard, which is not a good thing for those who want to make quick money. If the player performs these tasks themselves, despite being hard work and requiring you to complete some minigames, you can create much better quality food, which earns more money. While I was playing, I tried both ways, letting the fairies do the production and doing these same tasks myself, and the difference in money earned is huge. In general, most of the activities required to be done, such as filling beer mugs or preparing soups, are things that you have to do all the time, which makes you lose focus on other things, which is not a problem if the fairies did their job properly. By default, customers wait as long as they need to be served, but there are customers who need to be served within a certain time. Sometimes, your tavern will be full and, most of the time, the fairies do not give priority to customers with urgent orders. Now add to that the fact that you will be doing more tasks that require attention. In short , the fairies are extremely useful, but they could be more intelligent or at least could gain improvements to make better food, for example. I understand that if the fairies do not do everything that could be done because if they did not, the player would have nothing to do, but we come to another factor: potential . When you start playing Tavern Manager Simulator, you get the impression that it will offer many possibilities, and even that it introduces you to new mechanics in a good progression , but we reach a point where the new mechanic is to take care of the customer's horse, for example. And the problem is not that this exists, but rather that it could have something more related to the food and drinks part, but what comes first are things like taking care of horses. And it is this potential that you see that it could have, but it doesn't. And the fairies don't have the option to take care of the horses! The game is in Brazilian Portuguese , which helps the player understand the game's mechanics. Overall, the game is fun, waiting on tables, running around with orders, this is where Tavern Manager Simulator shines. In addition, we have some easter eggs around the map that refer to other games. It is addictive to advance and improve your tavern to see what comes next and this game does this very well. Evolve your tavern aesthetically. ACHIEVEMENTS Most of the achievements in Tavern Manager Simulator can be achieved simply by progressing through the game , cleaning the tavern, making superior food, and other basic things. However, there are some specific actions that you will have to do, such as paying off a loan, watching customers while they are in the bathroom, and decorating your tavern with a specific number of items. My only negative observation is also a general criticism of games that have achievements in which you have to play poorly to achieve some of them. In the case of Tavern Manager Simulator, we have an achievement where you have to serve bad food ten times, and if you play the game, you will see that it is very difficult to make bad food, unless you force yourself to do it. Overall, it is a very easy game to get 100% of the achievements. Filling the perfect mug of beer takes skill. CONCLUSION I got a little addicted to playing Tavern Manager Simulator, mostly because of the game's well-done progression. Still, I felt like the game could be more than it is , with more aspects that would make the gameplay more interesting. One factor that hindered my experience a little was the Chinese New Year event. As much as I like themed events that keep games alive, this one had a somewhat negative effect, because this event added new dishes that were made by an NPC. The problem is that most customers ordered the event food, which ruined the experience for those who started playing during the Chinese New Year. There was no way to turn the event on and off, for those who wanted to try the normal game before venturing into events. It wasn't something that bothered me too much, but it caused some problems, since the NPC made one dish at a time, at a speed that made me lose a lot of orders. Other than that, I had a lot of fun , but I still wanted more things related to the tavern itself, like new food and drinks and not taking care of other people's horses. SCORE: 7.0/10
- Review: Moons of Darsalon
Moons of Darsalon is a platform game with creative puzzles, retro visuals, and a remarkable soundtrack. Games-Review-Análises-Conquistas-Achievements GAMEPLAY / VISUAL Moons of Darsalon features a retro design reminiscent of Earthworm Jim 's environments, though it applies a visual filter that, while not groundbreaking, fits the game's overall aesthetic. Developed by the same studio behind Pilots of Darsalon , this spin-off maintains visual consistency and delivers a genuinely interesting experience. The gameplay places the player as part of a hive mind, controlling multiple characters to solve puzzles and complete missions in a platforming style. Despite claiming inspiration from Metal Slug , I personally don’t see much resemblance to the classic run-and-gun title. Compared to the studio's previous game, it's evident how much they've evolved, introducing more refined and engaging dynamics, even with the complete shift in genre. ACHIEVEMENTS Unfortunately, the game falters in this area, as do many others. Apologies for being blunt, but if anyone from Dr. Kucho! Games is open to feedback, we’d be glad to help brainstorm more creative achievements for their next game. It feels like the achievements were designed lazily, leaning on clichés that, in our view, significantly hinder indie games. Examples include achievements tied to extreme difficulty levels or obtaining all stars in every stage. This design approach, as we've often pointed out, alienates a considerable audience—particularly players looking for more accessible or casual experiences. Moreover, these achievements lack originality and fail to creatively engage players, missing an opportunity to enhance the game's overall experience. TRAILER OFFICIAL RESUME Moons of Darsalon showcases consistent graphics and genuinely creative puzzles, though the beginning might feel a bit slow. However, the game soon unfolds into a cohesive and visually stunning experience. Its unique soundtrack adds to the nostalgic atmosphere, while the graphic style pays clear homage to old-school games, almost as if it was lifted straight from a CD-ROM included with retro gaming magazines. This retro aesthetic not only works well but also adds a special charm, making the game memorable for both its beauty and its clever gameplay. - Review: Mists of Noyah
Mists of Noyah is a cooperative 2D survival game where players explore, build, and defend their base against hordes of nighttime enemies. Games-Review-Análises-Conquistas-Achievements GAMEPLAY / VISUAL With a gameplay dynamic that differs from conventional survival games, Mists of Noyah gradually unveils its Tower Defense essence, surprising the player throughout the experience. The game stands out with its stunning pixel art graphics , one of its strongest aspects. However, by incorporating multiple gameplay styles, it may have unintentionally alienated some players. Even so, Mists of Noyah is a solid game with evident qualities. I dare say it becomes truly engaging after a few hours, but its slow progression might be an obstacle for some players. The game features multiple elements that directly influence the gameplay, from inventory management to item crafting and skill development. Additionally, Mists of Noyah introduces summons and companion creatures , adding an extra layer of strategy and customization to the experience. I’d say this is one of the most robust pixel art games I’ve ever played. Besides its depth, it shines through its beautifully crafted character designs, each meticulously detailed, with unique and special traits. Mists of Noyah is undeniably a journey , revealing itself to be far more complex than it seems at first glance. Despite its robust and complex nature, some of its simpler mechanics show flaws . For instance, the combat system lacks refinement, making the action feel less engaging compared to the rest of the experience. ACHIEVEMENTS To be completely honest, I didn’t enjoy Mists of Noyah ’s achievements very much. Many require reaching level 60 with every character , while others feel unnecessarily tedious. In general, this isn’t uncommon, as many companies opt for grind-heavy achievements when they lack more creative ways to keep players engaged until the end. Innovative achievements, like those in The Stanley Parable , are a rare find. TRAILER OFFICIAL RESUME You could make a long list of games that inspired Mists of Noyah , and I believe Stardew Valley is one of them. Interestingly, while the game embraces multiple gameplay styles, it isn’t always intuitive , particularly in its simpler combat animations. It’s a shame because the experience is intriguing, and the developers clearly have strong technical expertise . However, they may have overextended their vision, when instead, they should have refined key aspects —especially at the beginning of the game. - Review: Eternal Strands
Combine various spells and powerful equipment to face dangers and prevent the end of the world. THE GAME Eternal Strands is an action-adventure game developed and published by Yellow Brick Games . Brynn is a young weaver, a group of beings who seek the secrets of the Enclave and seek to reclaim their homeland. Using powerful equipment and weapons combined with powerful magic, our protagonist will face various dangers while exploring areas full of enemies, whether creatures of nature or colossal adversaries. Enjoy all the combat diversity and face the challenges in your own way. Battle colossal enemies. MY IMPRESSIONS Eternal Strands offers an interesting proposition, with combats that give you the freedom to try a little bit of everything until you find the way you like the most. When it comes to weapon combat, you'll find the complete package, with short and long-range attacks, rolling and parrying blows with counterattacks. Where the game truly shines is with magic and its range of different ways to use it. Using one of the first magics as an example, ice, you can use it to freeze enemies and put out fire. And it doesn't stop there. By improving this skill, you'll acquire more versatility, such as creating an ice bridge. And this is just one example, as there is an interesting range of magics and possibilities. Creating equipment is simple, but with a fun way to create and improve each weapon and armor, in an improvement system based on the quality of the materials used. Still on the subject of equipment, we have a focus on resistance, both to heat and cold, which are elements that are very present in your adventure. The game is in Brazilian Portuguese , which helps you understand the mechanics, both weapons and armor and magic, and also makes it easier to follow the game's story. Another interesting factor is the enemies you encounter during your adventure. There are the most basic ones, which will have their own attack patterns and abilities specific to each species, but the enemies that really stand out are the giants . The battles change completely against this type of adversary, which will require different strategies to take down these colossal enemies. The game's visuals, both for the characters and enemies and the environment, are beautiful, but generic. Despite the vibrant colors, they look like something you've seen somewhere else. Still, this doesn't get in the way of gameplay, as you'll find plenty of fun in this world full of corners to explore. Use your spells in creative ways. ACHIEVEMENTS A large part of the achievements are related to progress in the game's story. In addition to these, we have combat achievements, which involve defeating specific enemies and also using your magic in different ways , interacting with the environment and objects. Finally, we have achievements linked to the game's equipment, such as making pieces with the highest quality resistance to cold and heat or creating equipment with the best materials, for example. Since Eternal Strands is a game with a lot of exploration and combat diversity, you will have to try a little bit of everything to reach 100% of the achievements. Get ready for epic battles! CONCLUSION The variety of magic and its possibilities was what caught my attention after I started playing. I say this because what attracted me to this game were the battles against giant enemies. Of course, this type of battle is really cool, but it's really fun to experiment with what can be done with each type of magic. Despite this, I feel that the game doesn't hold the player's attention due to other aspects , such as the story or the charisma of the characters. Not that they're bad, but they're not attractive, perhaps even overshadowed by all the other elements of the game. Still, it's a really fun game that will provide hours of entertainment. SCORE: 7.5/10
- Review: Enigma do Medo
Don't be afraid to investigate all the mysteries in Enigma of Fear. THE GAME Enigma of Fear is an investigation game developed by Dumativa and Cellbit and distributed by Dumativa and Nuuvem Inc . Mia and her faithful dog Lupi are on a mission: to find Veríssimo , Mia's father. His last known location was an abandoned and very macabre mansion. Accompanied by the hacker Samuel and the occultist Agatha , our protagonist goes in search of answers about where her father is, trusting that he is still alive. You will encounter all kinds of threats, from zombies to paranormal activity, all wrapped up in a macabre and frightening atmosphere. The whole team together. MY IMPRESSIONS Many good ideas together don't always produce a good result. Enigma of Fear is great as an investigation game . Puzzles with a good level of difficulty, making you explore files, clues and scenarios, interactions between characters that help you advance, all of this is done very well. If the game were limited to just that, it would be perfect. However, we have threats like zombies, for example, that force you to engage in combat. And that's where the game suffers. In the case of zombies, you can still defeat them stealthily, but another problem appears and I'll get into that shortly. It seems to be a mania of game developers to want to cram combat into games that clearly don't need it to stand out. All of the countless investigation mechanics are overshadowed by this need for battles against enemies, with blocks at the right time and the need for precise movements. Perhaps all of this would go unnoticed if the controls and gameplay weren't so detrimental to the game. Characters with heavy movement, precise movements at times when the controls don't help, and some interface issues are just some of the problems that make the experience exhausting . The story is interesting, always leaving you wanting to know where all this mystery will take you, even though the extremely boring combats try hard to demotivate you. The game is in Brazilian Portuguese , as it is made by Brazilian developers. In addition, they did a great job of including dubbing in Brazilian Portuguese, with extremely famous voice actors in Brazil. It seems that it is becoming a recurring feature and that makes me very happy . The game's art, both pixel art and 3D scenarios, are very well done and their combination has good synergy. Despite some optimization and control issues, it is a challenging game, but it is disappointing in some aspects. Put the clues together to move forward. ACHIEVEMENTS Most of the achievements are tied to the game's main story , meaning that as you progress, you'll naturally get most of them. Some others will require you to solve puzzles separately to find new story items. In short, you'll have a lot of exploration and investigation to do if you want to complete 100% of the achievements. Beware of sudden dangers. CONCLUSION I really like games developed by Brazilians because they almost always break the mold and are extremely creative . In Enigma of Fear, we have that too, but it seems that, for some reason, some decisions were made to make the game more appealing in their view, and it's something I see a lot in the gaming industry. If there's no combat, it's not appealing to the public. Even if that were true, I like developers who are bold and deliver experiences that are different from the usual. We could have that here, a game wrapped in mystery and investigation without having to stop everything for a combat sequence that doesn't work, whether due to gameplay or controls. Unfortunately, it had a lot of potential that was wasted, even though its creativity with puzzles shines . SCORE: 6.0/10
- Review: Mullet Mad Jack
Can you save the princess in just 10 seconds? THE GAME Mullet Mad Jack is an action FPS developed by HAMMER95 and distributed by Epopeia Games and HAMMER95 . In the distant future, humans need dopamine every 10 seconds or else they will die. With Mullet Mad Jack it is no different. Charged with the mission of saving a princess (who is actually an influencer), our protagonist must climb the floors of a building, destroying everything and everyone along the way. Every time he defeats an enemy, he gains more seconds of life so he can achieve his objective. Kick in the face! MY IMPRESSIONS I'll start by talking about my biggest surprise with this game: the voice acting . Mullet Mad Jack is a game made by Brazilians and, logically, it's in Brazilian Portuguese , as expected. However, when I started the game, I had a pleasant surprise: all the characters are dubbed in Brazilian Portuguese. That in itself would be incredible, but I was even more happy to hear the voices because the voice actors are well-known to Brazilians. Just as the game is themed like an anime from the 90s , the voice actors chosen are renowned for many works from that era. Nostalgia aside, the game's aesthetics, both art and audio in general, are incredible, immersing you in a colorful and stylish world, including when we have some animated scenes, which make everything even more wonderful. The whole story of how humans and the internet merged and now everyone needs 10 seconds of dopamine to stay alive at all times is a critique of our current world, where you're either entertained by screens or you're out of date. This translates into a frenetic game with constant action, where at times you don't even know what's going on, but it's there, just like the amount of information we receive but don't even understand or notice. Maybe I'm just overthinking it, but it's an analogy that works well for what the game presents. As mentioned, the action doesn't stop while you play, because you have 10 seconds to live and you need to eliminate enemies to get more time. And there are many ways to eliminate enemies, ranging from weapon types to objects in the environment. The movement is light and makes you almost glide across the map, but when you hit an enemy, you also feel the weight of the blow and this makes the actions more enjoyable to perform . In the battles against the floor bosses, there is no timer, so you can just focus on the bosses' patterns. In addition, there are many stages in which the normal gameplay changes to something like a special stage, which gives a fresh feel to the game's story. Mullet Mad Jack is simply guaranteed fun , even when you lose and go back to the beginning of the chapter, you don't want to stop. It must be the dopamine. If it bleeds we can kill it! ACHIEVEMENTS Mullet Mad Jack's achievements are quite simple and straightforward . In addition to the story-related achievements and beating the game on all difficulties, there are also achievements related to improvements you get as you progress through your attempts, collected weapons, and specific actions, such as finishing off enemies or shooting their balls. The developers did a great job with the achievements, balancing their level of difficulty and complexity well. If you're looking for 100%, it'll be a lot of fun to get. Straight to the balls! CONCLUSION Without a doubt, an incredibly addictive game. It makes me very happy to see Brazilian game developers creating excellent games. And in Mullet Mad Jack we can see that they put a lot of care into both the visuals, which are wonderful, and the sound. The latter in particular, due to the dubbing in Brazilian Portuguese, was something that made me very happy, because in addition to using renowned voice actors, it also shows that they care about their Brazilian audience. The fast and challenging gameplay combined with all of this makes it very unique, like a game that will leave its mark on the world of indie games and, most likely, will be used as inspiration by many other developers. Without a shadow of a doubt, it is among the best Brazilian games of all time . SCORE: 9.0/10
