- Review: Uncle Chop's Rocket Shop
Race against time to repair spaceships and pay your bills before you suffer the consequences. Games-Review-Análises-Conquistas-Achievements THE GAME Uncle Chop's Rocket Shop is a management roguelite developed by Beard Envy and published by Kasedo Games . At a station located on an asteroid, Wilbur works as a spaceship mechanic. Since nothing in this life is free, he has to pay rent to Uncle Chop . Therefore, Wilbur has to fix as many ships as possible so as not to suffer the consequences. With the help of a manual and a lot of patience, fix modules of the ships that arrive at the station in need of repair. Remember: keep an eye on the time. Even if everything goes wrong, don't worry, you can always try again, from the beginning, but with a little more experience. Always read the manual. MY IMPRESSIONS A roguelite that mixes management and puzzles is not something that comes easily. It's an idea that, although simple, is used intelligently and has a good balance of difficulty. Although the idea is a race against time to solve problems, the developers have included an option for those who don't like this kind of urgency, adding a mode where there is no countdown, but the difficulty of repairing the modules is increased. It's a smart way to accommodate all types of players , balancing the aspects that were originally designed for the game. Still in the gameplay, it may seem confusing at first, even with the manual in hand, you may have some difficulty understanding, but I understand this as an experience of the game, as if you were a beginner in it and are learning, so it doesn't bother the player. Some of the improvements you acquire will accompany you every time you start a new game, which makes your life easier to advance in future attempts. The game is not in Brazilian Portuguese , which makes it difficult to understand some terms in the manual and even to understand the plots of the stories that are told. Wilbur is a charismatic protagonist and takes us through this strange story, full of mysteries and conflicts, which is even different for a game that claims to be a roguelite, but it works well. I really liked the art of the game, it's almost like a cartoon , with caricatured characters but full of charisma, in a style where the characters are strange but well-constructed in their proposals. It's a game that can leave you exhausted looking for solutions to fix the modules, but that will also keep your attention in the subplots, so it will be a good pastime for those who like this genre. Race against time to repair the ships. ACHIEVEMENTS There are a variety of very difficult achievements in Uncle Chop's Rocket Shop. There are achievements related to the various stories that the game presents, achievements for improving the workshop, achievements for completing certain challenges within a specific time frame, in short, there is a diversity of achievements that will make you sweat to get them. Therefore, keep playing and unlocking what is possible normally and only then go after what is missing. Since it is a roguelite game and there is a lot to do in different aspects, it is not worth hunting for achievements right from the start. Things could get dangerous. CONCLUSION Even with an interesting premise, Uncle Chop's Rocket Shop may not grab you at first . Even more so if you're Brazilian. Not having a translation of the texts into Brazilian Portuguese is not a big problem in most games, but in games where the text and rules of the game are essential, not having a translation is really detrimental. Even if you know English and can progress, the problem is that it gets tiring to translate everything while having a countdown pressuring you. Aside from that factor, it's a game with a different and creative idea , which reminded me a lot of Keep Talking And Nobody Explodes, where we also have a manual and a countdown, a premise that we don't see much in the gaming market. I hope that in the near future they provide a translation into Brazilian Portuguese. SCORE: 7.0/10 Games-Review-Análises-Conquistas-Achievements
- Review: Songs Of Silence
Lead powerful armies, manage and expand your kingdom while engaging in an immersive story campaign or skirmishes with up to 6 players on procedurally generated maps. Games-Review-Análises-Conquistas-Achievements GAMEPLAY / VISUAL Songs of Silence surprises with a striking introduction, a rare feature in the strategy genre. The opening narrative provides a captivating overview of the world's origins, setting the stage for an immersive experience in both story and mechanics. The game carefully balances turn-based and real-time strategy elements, introducing card mechanics as a unique twist. The turn-based mode operates like a strategic board game, where positioning is vital. Upon encountering enemies, combat transitions to real-time, using cards to execute abilities and tactics. Visually, the game excels as one of its strongest aspects. Songs of Silence uses cel-shading techniques for the map, combined with 2.5D elements and 3D character models, delivering a unique and impressive aesthetic. Despite this, some creatures appear rushed, slightly detracting from the overall artistic quality. Nonetheless, the visuals remain stunning and deserve recognition. ACHIEVEMENTS The development team’s approach to achievements in Songs of Silence has some shortcomings, particularly for a strategy game on consoles. The inclusion of high difficulty levels from the start and making collectibles a core part of the experience raises concerns. While collectibles can add value to narrative-driven or exploratory games, their implementation in a strategy title—where the focus should be on planning and execution—feels misplaced. Requiring specific objectives to unlock collectibles becomes particularly frustrating, as it diverts attention from the core gameplay. A balanced approach with fewer, well-integrated collectibles could enhance the player experience. However, in this case, the overuse of collectibles detracts from the flow and immersion, making them an unwelcome distraction. TRAILER OFFICIAL RESUME As with many strategy games, adapting Songs of Silence for consoles comes with challenges. While the transition to console controls is well-executed, the game lacks some intuitive features, particularly in unit recruitment and basic task management. Refining these aspects would significantly improve the player experience. Overall, Songs of Silence delivers an ambitious blend of mechanics and styles, with captivating visuals and a compelling narrative. Despite a few missteps, it offers a rich and promising experience, especially for strategy game enthusiasts looking for something fresh. SCORE: 7.5/10 Games-Review-Análises-Conquistas-Achievements
- Review: Chicken Police Into the HIVE!
Activate your investigator mode and dive headfirst into this world of anthropomorphized animals in noir style. Games-Review-Análises-Conquistas-Achievements THE GAME Chicken Police: Into the HIVE! is an investigation game developed by The Wild Gentlemen and published by Joystick Ventures . Investigating Clawville , Sonny and Marty , two chicken investigators, are taken to the Hive , a place where all the insects have been forced to live. A big case is happening there and our investigators will soon realize that it is something bigger than they imagined. Immerse yourself in this noir world full of anthropomorphized animals to discover what mysteries the streets of Clawville hold. Explore the streets for clues. MY IMPRESSIONS After its predecessor, Chicken Police - Paint it RED!, we return to follow Sonny and Marty in yet another investigation. Since I had already played the first title, I can clearly see how things have evolved from one game to the next. And I can't start talking about this game without mentioning its art. I really like how both the characters and the settings are done. The characters with their human bodies and animal heads in a realistic style (or as close to realistic as you can get) are incredible and leave you with that uncomfortable feeling as if it weren't right, but it works so well. This is more evident in scenes that seem to be live action and make everything more alive. The settings don't fall behind, always in a noir atmosphere , as if you were in an old cop movie. The soundtrack helps to set the mood masterfully, which makes the whole experience even better. Unlike the previous title, where only some elements had color, here we have some sequences that are completely colored. In both cases, these details are used as elements that help in the narrative. The gameplay maintains its spirit, however, with a freshness , both in its visuals and in its mechanics. Exploration and some puzzles are still found here, which are basically the soul of an investigative game. I won't go into too much detail about the story because a big part of the fun of this game is understanding and being intrigued by what is being told, but for those who played the first game in the series, it will continue to be at the same level and it will be even more interesting to continue following Sonny and his dilemmas. For those who are starting the series with this game, there is no problem, because it is perfectly possible to follow the story and situate yourself in the context. Unlike its predecessor, the game is in Brazilian Portuguese , which is essential for a game entirely based on texts, because when I played Chicken Police - Paint it RED! even though I knew English, it was quite tiring to play and mentally translate everything I read. This expansion of the Chicken Police universe is very interesting , because here they present more about the city, about what happened in the past and its current consequences. The characters, in addition to being well-personified visually as previously mentioned, are incredibly dubbed , even if only in English, but they enrich each character immensely, since this way we can better understand each one's personality, making everything much more immersive and sentimental. For those who enjoy a good investigation, the kind that starts with a grain of sand and becomes a storm in the middle of the desert, this will be a great adventure. Crime scenes are their natural habitat. ACHIEVEMENTS In addition to the story-related achievements, there are some that will require your explorer's instinct to be sharp . My tip is: press everything possible in the scenario. Collectible achievements in this type of game can be a bit annoying, because if you miss one, you'll have a lot of work to go after later. Talking to all the characters until you run out of lines is also important to advance in your achievements. Completing secondary objectives, doing the alternative ending and doing some specific actions are just a few more achievements that may require you to play through at least a second time to complete the achievements. Since its previous title, Chicken Police has very broad achievements and, although it may take time, I recommend completing the game without thinking too much about completing all the achievements at once, because otherwise you'll have to use a guide and won't enjoy the game. So, live Chicken Police: Into the HIVE and after that, go for the achievements. Feel the whole noir vibe. CONCLUSION As I said before, I had already played the previous title in the Chicken Police saga and I really liked it. I didn't imagine that they would expand the universe and I was very happy when I saw that a sequel would be released. What I liked most was that the developers kept everything we saw before, but with a new look, showing that they care about improving. The story is intriguing and draws several parallels with our world, which also influences your actions during investigations and interrogations. I want to see where this created world will go and I'm sure the developers are already working on it. It has the potential to continue doing a good job and creating a very good series of investigative games. SCORE: 8.0/10 Games-Review-Análises-Conquistas-Achievements
- Review: Wild Woods
Protect your cart from the dangers of the forest. Games-Review-Análises-Conquistas-Achievements THE GAME Wild Woods is a roguelike game developed by Octofox Games and published by Daedalic Entertainment . Take on the role of a warrior cat to protect your wagon during your journey through a dangerous forest. During the day, you search for resources to help you on your adventure, such as wood to light your furnace and fruit to heal yourself from the possible results of a battle. At night, you must protect your wagon from enemy attacks, which will come in groups to try to defeat you and damage your wagon. In addition, you must keep your furnace running, as in addition to generating light to see in the darkness, it also provides you with heat to face the cold night. Advance, collect resources, buy and earn improvements for yourself and your wagon until you reach your goal, whether playing alone or with up to four players. Prepare to defend yourself. MY IMPRESSIONS The game mechanics are quite simple: you collect resources during the day and defend your cart from enemies at dusk. Armed with a sword, your cat will have to travel the entire path, without going too far from the cart, always choosing the paths he wants to follow based on what lies ahead. Wild Woods is that typical game that you can even play alone, but its potential only appears when played with two or more people . When I say it is simple, I mean it is simple, in all its aspects, from its controls to the mechanics of the cart. This is another factor that makes the game much more receptive to playing with any type of person, since it is an easy-to-learn game. The game is in Brazilian Portuguese , which makes it easier to understand some of the upgrades you can buy in stores, for example. The game's art is very stylized and smooth , combining the cute aspect with the simple, so as not to fill the screen with information, since the game is already quite frenetic. In fact, it's likely that on your first playthrough, you'll be lost as to what needs to be done and what's happening, but you'll soon get the hang of it, as the pace remains the same. We have boss fights, which take place in arenas. Your wagon parks inside the arena, but still provides you with resources such as healing to help in the battle. However, be careful: it can still be damaged. And the game continues in this sequence of trips, culminating in an arena for battle and returning to the road. If you're defeated, you go back to the beginning and take nothing with you. Therefore, no two sessions will ever be the same . Stay close to your wagon. ACHIEVEMENTS There are several achievements in Wild Woods. Most of them involve major challenges to be achieved, such as winning on hard mode, winning without taking damage, or winning without getting cold at night. In addition, there are some specific actions that generate achievements, such as defeating the boss in a specific way or making the enemy hit their own companions. With these and other varieties of achievements, the game uses this feature as an additional challenge for players, which makes completing 100% of the achievements a difficult task . Face dangerous enemies. CONCLUSION I had a lot of fun playing with a friend, and thinking about whether the game would work for me if I played alone, I think it would lose its shine for me. The funny situations that happen when you play cooperative games make a huge difference to your experience. Wild Woods is in early access at the time I write this review, but it already has a trail of exciting new content for the game, such as the addition of a character, new enemies, and more improvements. Many people may not like to pick up a game that is still adding things, but I love to see games that have potential evolve, and that is what I see in Wild Woods. With time and new additions, it has everything to be an even more fun game to play with friends. SCORE: 7.5/10 Games-Review-Análises-Conquistas-Achievements
- Review: Nikoderiko The Magical World
Join Niko and Luna on this adventure to save the island from the Cobritos army. THE GAME Nikoderiko: The Magical World is an adventure game developed by VEA Games and published by Knights Peak . Niko and Luna , two adventurous mongooses, go after an island treasure, but after managing to get it, they are confronted by Baron Grimbald and his army , who steal the treasure and are about to put an end to our duo. However, Niko and Luna manage to escape, but they seek justice, for themselves and for the inhabitants of the island who are tormented by the army of Cobritos. Alone or in pairs, venture through the island and help our protagonists win and bring peace to the inhabitants of the island again. MY IMPRESSIONS If there was a possibility of Donkey Kong, Crash Bandicoot and Rayman having a child, that child would be Nikoderiko. Elements of the three games mentioned can be seen throughout the game, whether in the gameplay, which alternates between a 2D and 3D platform game, or in the visual and mechanical aspects. I'm mentioning this factor initially because it's impossible not to talk about it. The references used here are blatant. And I had mixed feelings about it. On the one hand, I miss games in this style, and it's very difficult to find anything of quality. On the other hand, Nikoderiko draws so much from the source of the classics mentioned above that he almost drowns. It seems like he wants to be everything, except himself . The gameplay bothered me a little, because the character's movements seem very stiff to me, in the sense that they're not fluid. It seems like there are some types of movements missing that, for those who play platform games, are already natural. Furthermore, when the level goes to a part where it becomes 3D, aiming becomes a lucky shot. Still talking about this change from 2D to 3D, I like the idea, but including this in almost all stages makes them long. As a result, playing too many stages makes the game tiring. The bosses are fun to face , with fun ways to complete these challenges. The game is in Brazilian Portuguese , which helps to follow the story that is being told. This story is not very exciting, unlike some small scenes that, without any dialogue, better tell the context of the moment. Nikoderiko has a two-player option, which consists of going through the same stages, but with two people playing at the same time, one with Niko and the other with Luna, with the mechanic of being able to save the other player if he loses all his lives. Essentially, that's all that changes, making some parts easier, others more difficult. Overall, it's a simple game that will keep you entertained for a long time. ACHIEVEMENTS You'll face many challenges if you want to get 100% of the achievements in Nikoderiko. Completing the collection of all collectibles and defeating bosses with certain requirements are just some of the tasks to be done. There are several specific actions to be done that unlock achievements, such as finishing the game without dying or completing a level without defeating any enemies. I confess that I found some achievements to be very different from what you would expect from a game of this style, but they are not impossible. They generate a good level of challenge and will give work to those who want to complete all the achievements. CONCLUSION There's no problem in taking inspiration from classics and using resources from them, especially since it's hard to find something that's 100% original these days. What Nikoderiko does, however, is hide behind these resources that make you forget which game you're playing. At every moment, you find a reference to another game that could be used, but in a more creative way. One example is the access to the bonus stages that are hidden in the middle of the stages. In Donkey Kong, you entered a barrel and were launched. In Nikoderiko, it's a cannon, which even though it's a different object, is represented in such a way that it looks very similar to the barrel. And it doesn't stop there: the screen that informs you of the bonus stage is very similar to the ones we find in Donkey Kong. And that's just one example. I would have liked to have seen more originality, even if there were hints of homages everywhere. I didn't like the gameplay that much and, added to the length of each stage, I found it tiring. Nikoderiko had the potential to be a breath of fresh air , but ended up hiding behind tributes. SCORE: 7.0/10
- Review: Super Bunny Man
Put on your bunny suit and hop around in Super Bunny Man. THE GAME Super Bunny Man is a platform game developed and distributed by Catobyte . Controlling a man dressed as a rabbit, your goal is to reach the end of the level. Simple? It's not! Like any good man dressed as a rabbit, you'll use jumps to advance, using physics to your advantage. Or not. And since everything good can get even better, you can call up three more friends to make everything more fun and chaotic. MY IMPRESSIONS I always look for games that have a cooperative mode because of the potential for fun and laughter that it can provide. Obviously, a game in which you are a man dressed as a rabbit jumping around will provide you with a lot of entertainment . Even though the game allows you to play alone, it is essential that it be played by at least two players. I was not able to test it with more than two people playing together, but I can't even imagine how chaotic this game can be with four players. The main mode challenges you in three ways . The first way is to reach the end of the map normally, trying not to fall into the holes or get impaled on the spikes, for example. The second way is to do exactly the same thing as the first, but taking a carrot with you to the end. And the third way is a race against time, in which you have to reach the end of the map under the stipulated time. In this exact order, we can outline these three ways as difficulty levels, but they do not force you to do them, except for the first one, which is the basics for advancing in the game. In addition to the main mode, we have a versus mode with three modalities . The first mode involves defeating your opponents, either by throwing them off the map or using the environment to your advantage. The second mode is basketball, which consists of scoring baskets against the other team. And the third mode involves picking up carrots and taking them to your enclosure, and whoever has the most carrots wins. This versus mode is a great addition, but the simplicity and lack of map variety quickly exhausts this mode. Overall, it's a great game to get together with friends and have a good laugh. ACHIEVEMENTS Unfortunately, the game does not have achievements . I don't know if it is in the developers' future plans, but I believe there is room for a future addition. CONCLUSION Even though it is completely playable alone, playing Super Bunny Man with friends makes it much more fun . I know that for many people this is a deterrent, as they would stop playing a game like this because they don't have friends to play with, but if you have the chance, call your friends and play. I spent an entire night laughing playing with a friend, challenging ourselves to complete the levels by at least taking the carrot to the end. The amount of hilarious scenes we provided was worth it. I still want to try playing with four people to see what happens. And this is what the game relies on, as it is simple in all its aspects and, without the group fun factor, it is a game that quickly runs out of steam. SCORE: 7.5/10
- Review: Monarchy
Manage resources, strengthen your base, and assemble your army to face strategic challenges in Monarchy , a game that masterfully blends management and tactics in an immersive setting. Games-Review-Análises-Conquistas-Achievements GAMEPLAY / VISUAL The visuals in Monarchy are undoubtedly one of its strongest aspects, delivering a polished and appealing style. However, when it comes to gameplay, it becomes clear that Monarchy takes heavy inspiration from the Kingdom series, to the extent that it feels almost like a reskin. Many of the game's elements are so similar that it often seems like a visual update layered on top of Kingdom . The core mechanics involve collecting coins, recruiting hermits, and building a fortress while preparing to face enemies or leave the region. The progression system mirrors Kingdom exactly, leaving little room for innovation or originality. Despite this, the controls are smooth, and the cartoonish art style, which replaces Kingdom 's pixel art, gives the game a unique charm, aligning it more closely with popular mobile titles. ACHIEVEMENTS The achievements are well-designed and accessible, a commendable effort by the development team. There are no absurd requirements, such as collecting irrelevant items or completing limited-time challenges that often frustrate players. This approach makes completing the game a more satisfying and less tedious experience. TRAILER OFFICIAL CONCLUSÃO Reviewing Monarchy can be challenging, given that it is essentially a reimagining of something already familiar. Nonetheless, the game delivers its mechanics effectively, with fluid movements and solid art direction. What Monarchy lacks is originality: systems or ideas that set it apart from its main inspiration. Without a unique identity, the game struggles to justify itself as an independent title. However, this does not make it a bad game by any means. Final Score: For fans of Kingdom , Monarchy offers an enjoyable experience, but do not expect anything groundbreaking. - Review: Awaken - Astral Blade
Face terrifying creatures as you try to explore the mysteries of ancient ruins in search of your origins. Games-Review-Análises-Conquistas-Achievements THE GAME Awaken - Astral Blade is an action-adventure game developed by Dark Pigeon Games and published by ESDigital Games . Controlling Tania , a bionic girl with combat skills, we are sent to the Horace Islands to rescue a missing investigation team. In this place, animals and plants have suffered mutations due to Karpas energy . So, our heroine decides to investigate what is happening there, exploring ruins and improving her arsenal of weapons and skills, while facing several enemies. MY IMPRESSIONS In true Metroidvania style, Awaken - Astral Blade has its strong point in its combat. All the hits land nicely and you feel every blow as you land them on your opponents. Paying attention to how your enemies behave is essential, as this way you learn their patterns so you can eliminate them in the best possible way. As you progress through the game, you will receive new skills, as well as evolve your skill tree, which makes some aspects of your combat easier and adds new layers to the way you play. In addition, you will also be able to equip some equipment and items to improve your stats. The story has many mysteries, but I don't think that's the biggest attraction here. The gameplay overshadows the story and even the characters. The game is in Brazilian Portuguese , which makes it easier to understand the story. I feel that everything in Awaken - Astral Blade, except for the combat, is very generic . The art doesn't draw attention, although some enemies have a cool design, for the most part, all the visual elements give the impression that you've seen them somewhere else. The game's difficulty is well-balanced, which makes combat satisfying and has a good balance between skill and reward. ACHIEVEMENTS In addition to achievements related to the game's story and progression, you'll have to collect some items, evolve your skills to the maximum, in short, the entire basic achievement package in a game of this style. In addition, you'll need to complete the game's different endings and, most importantly, collect cats. After all, who doesn't like cats, right? Getting 100% of the achievements will basically require a lot of exploration of scenarios, but it's not that complicated a task. CONCLUSION What got me most excited about playing Awaken - Astral Blade was its combat. You feel like fighting even the weakest of enemies just so you can perform different combos and feel each blow hitting your opponent . The boss fights are very challenging and balanced, always requiring you to use your skills correctly, learning the patterns to be able to counterattack. Unfortunately, what the combat gives us, everything else takes away, showing us generic and unexciting aspects, but which are so overshadowed by the gameplay that they don't detract from the enjoyment . - Review: Slay The Princess - The Pristine Cut
Your next actions will dictate the fate of the world. It all depends on one choice: will you slay the princess? THE GAME Slay The Princess - The Pristine Cut is a visual novel and horror game developed by Black Tabby Games and distributed by Black Tabby Games and Serenity Forge . A hero finds himself on a trail in the middle of a forest. At the end of this trail, there is a cabin and, inside it, there is a princess imprisoned . Your mission, contrary to what all the enchanted fables tell, is to kill her. At least that is what the narrator , your guide in this mission, says, who explains to you that, if the princess is not killed, the world will end. When you find the princess, she does not seem to be a threat. What to do? Kill the princess as the narrator asks? Try to understand the girl's side? Risk the end of the world and release the noble woman? Who is telling the truth? This and many other questions can be answered because a hero finds himself on a trail in the middle of a forest. At the end of this trail, there is a cabin and, inside it, there is a princess imprisoned. MY IMPRESSIONS If you like visual novels, you have to play Slay The Princess. If you don't like visual novels, you also have to play Slay The Princess. I say this for the simple reason that it takes the genre to another level , making it a unique and memorable experience. Often, when you play something in this genre, you have some predefined paths and your choices are often limited and don't take you off track. In Slay The Princess, each action can completely change the course of the story, creating ramifications that will lead you to a different outcome. What makes this game so good is how it takes the visual novel genre and transforms it into a tabletop RPG, where you choose your actions and they have consequences. Interestingly, one of the characters in the game is literally called the narrator, which reinforces this idea even more. And it's impossible not to want to go through each route of the story more than once, choosing different answers and actions to see what the result is. The story has its philosophical depth, with many reflections on various subjects, which at first may seem like just daydreams, but which will make you think about some topics. The game's art is simply sensational . Each frame is drawn in a unique and highly stylized art style, which shows a lot of personality. The game is in Brazilian Portuguese , which is wonderful, since the game is basically text and many games in this style alienate non-English speakers if there is no translation. I recommend playing with headphones, because the game's sound effects and music put you in the mood for what is happening, but more than that, the voice acting in Slay The Princess is divine . All the professionals who worked on giving the characters their voices are to be congratulated, because they manage to convey exactly what the character wants to convey, especially the princess who, honestly, even gave me chills at times. The Pristine Cut adds a lot of new content to the game, which already had a lot. Some new chapters, some new routes to take and many deaths await you. I'm avoiding talking about what you can find in the game because it is an experience that must be lived. A horror that does not use scares, but that keeps you alert and afraid of making mistakes in your choices. Trying every option, reading every dialogue, dying in the most brutal and grotesque ways must be experienced. ACHIEVEMENTS Since the game has many routes, choices, and endings, naturally, we will have achievements for most of them. This means that you will have to explore all the stories to the fullest, making all the possible choices to see different scenes and endings. Since there is a feature that shows you everything you have already explored in the story, it is easier to discover the paths that are yet to be discovered. If you were already curious about taking different paths than the ones you initially took to find out what happens, naturally you will get all of them. Despite being laborious, the game is exquisite in its narrative and you will want to follow everything, but it is always possible to skip the dialogues and only see what is new, not making the search for 100% of the achievements boring. CONCLUSION While playing Slay The Princess, I tried to remember another game that gave me a similar feeling, a feeling of free choice, but that will always surprise me with every step I try to take. That's when I remembered: The Stanley Parable. Both have the same idea, a narrator who wants to guide you on a path, but that, obviously, will not always be followed. Many other elements are very similar and I'm not comparing them, quite the opposite, each one does it very well in its own style. I like clever games, that take you out of the ordinary and make you experience things that other genres won't make you experience . Slay The Princess - The Pristine Cut is full of great work in every corner: gameplay, sound, art, story, in short, everything comes together to create a unique atmosphere. It's a true interactive work of art that leaves you wanting more, seeing everything that's possible, discovering new directions for the story and being surprised by everything that's offered to you. It's definitely a wonderful game . SCORE: 9.5/10
- Review: Mangavania 2
Mangavania 2 is the sequel to the platformer where we take on the role of Yuhiko. GAMEPLAY / VISUAL Maintaining its pleasant visuals but with simplified gameplay, Mangavania 2 offers basic mechanics, featuring a bomb to throw and a rope to reach specific places. The game has completely abandoned combat to focus on an "Escape the Dungeon" style. Previously, Mangavania included puzzles that could keep players occupied for a few minutes; now, the goal is simply to reach the end of each level. So much so that, surprisingly, the game’s final boss is… a rock. Compared to the original, Mangavania 2 has lost several features: we no longer have the bow and arrow, collectibles in the levels, keys, gems, elevators, moving platforms, or a variety of enemies that required combat to progress. These omissions significantly reduce the game’s depth. ACHIEVEMENTS Unfortunately, Mangavania 2 ’s achievements follow the same approach as the first game: at the end of each level, you earn an achievement. There are 20 levels in total, each one rewarding a single, undistinguished achievement. TRAILER OFFICIAL RESUME It’s rare for a sequel to be inferior to the original, but Mangavania 2 is one of those cases. This may be one of the most disappointing games I’ve reviewed for the site. Seeing so many features removed was disheartening; the game feels generic and simplistic, seeming to exist only to profit from those who enjoyed the first game to some extent. With this, a new range of adventures opens up for Shin-chan, who with all his charisma and joy, will help everyone and make new friends. MY IMPRESSIONS Shin-chan is a well-known figure in animation. Even though it is much more a part of Japanese culture, Crayon Shin-Chan is known all over the world. With its characteristic and unique art, you only have to look at it and you know it is the creation of Yoshito Usui. In Shin-chan: Shiro and the Coal Town, it is no different. All the characteristics of the animations and manga are here, in addition to the references found in these same media. What left me most speechless were the scenarios. While the characters and some other resources are in 3D, the scenarios appear to be hand-drawn and are beautiful. The game is dubbed in Japanese, which brings it even closer to the anime. Shin-chan has his characteristic voice, in addition to his crazy movements and funny lines. The game is not in Brazilian Portuguese , which is a shame, because many of the dialogues are quite funny and get lost if you don't know English, since Shin-chan often gets people's names wrong and that's where the joke ends. I would like to see a translation into Brazilian Portuguese, because most of the time we are very good at localizing jokes. Your adventure in the game will consist of completing your collections, collecting insects and fish, for example. In addition, you will help the residents with some tasks that can give you some benefits, such as accessing blocked areas. And you will do all of this in a day and night cycle , so plan well what you will do during your day, because our little Shin-chan has to go to bed early. However, make the most of your time, because you will only find some things at specific times in the game, such as fireflies at night. We also have mining cart races, which even allow you to customize your cart to improve its performance. Shin-chan's interaction with all the other characters is very fun and light-hearted , and that is how I can define the game as a whole. You will discover everything together with Shin-chan, in a relaxed atmosphere that does not rush you, despite the aforementioned day and night cycle. For those looking for a casual and relaxing game, you can embark on this adventure with the adorable Shin-Chan. ACHIEVEMENTS Since the game is basically focused on collecting , it's no surprise that there are a lot of achievements related to this activity. From collecting different types of items, quantities and qualities, to accumulating money and racing in all the mining cart races, you'll have a good variety of challenges to complete, but they won't be tiring or extremely complicated . They'll be laborious activities, but you'll probably do them without realizing it and soon you'll have completed all the achievements. CONCLUSION I didn't know much about Shin-chan, but I obviously knew him. He's such a well-written character that he won me over while I was playing. He's a childish character, but he has that touch of Japanese humor with his nuances. It's a very light and peaceful game, a typical casual game that you pick up to play a little bit every day and never get tired of. It's impossible not to become fond of Shin-chan, so his game is also very enjoyable . Discovering things with the boy is a lot of fun, with wonderfully designed scenarios and comical dialogues. I was impressed with what I found playing Shin-chan: Shiro and the Coal Town. I expected something much more childish, but it's a game that, I dare say, is for all ages and, for sure, all of them will have a lot of fun. SCORE: 8.5/10
- Review: Wargroove 2
Wargroove 2 is the sequel to a turn-based strategy game clearly inspired by the classic Advance Wars from the Game Boy Advance. GAMEPLAY / VISUAL For those who played the first Wargroove , the familiarity with the beautiful and detailed animations will be immediate, something that stands out even more in this sequel. The game maintains the turn-based strategy style, where the player takes command of the troops of Aurania, a fictional continent. Once again, the introduction of a new faction—the Faahri mice—brings freshness to the battlefield. The main objective is to lead the army in offensives, using strategy based on terrain and units to your advantage. For example, opponents in difficult terrain, such as puddles, will move more slowly and become more vulnerable to attacks. Additionally, the classic dynamic of strengths and weaknesses between unit types is present: swordsmen are effective against archers but struggle with spearmen, while archers have an advantage over spearmen. It’s similar to the elemental strength system from Pokémon or the mechanics in Age of Empires . This table of advantages is interesting, but with so many different units, it takes time to memorize all the combinations. It might even be useful to have a table on hand for quick reference. (despite being a table from the first game, it is possible to have a base of the advantages and specifications mentioned) The major highlight of Wargroove 2 continues to be the option to play in cooperative mode, something rare in the turn-based strategy genre, which usually focuses on single-player experiences. ACHIEVEMENTS Unfortunately, Wargroove 2 ’s achievement system leaves much to be desired. This game is one of the few that would motivate me to try to obtain all the achievements, but their variety and difficulty are discouraging. From collecting all the birds to achieving a maximum rank in every level, the challenge is frustrating and, rather than rewarding the player, ends up ruining the experience. Abusive achievements like these can easily turn a fun game into a source of frustration, as we already noted in our review of the first title in the series. TRAILER OFFICIAL CONCLUSÃO While Wargroove 2 brings interesting updates to the mechanics and introduces a new storyline with intriguing branches, there isn’t a true evolution in gameplay that fully justifies the sequel. Does this make Wargroove 2 a bad game? Not at all. However, it could reach a higher level with a bit more creativity in its mechanics, especially considering the talent of the artists involved, who create such rare animations in today’s industry. On the other hand, there’s a simple reason for the lack of big innovations: the mechanics work. Wargroove 2 is a unique game and, though simple in its basic concept, offers undeniable fun.
